Adam's jaw dropped as Cas stepped back terrified. This is the man who -other than Samuel- put him to the Hospital! And confronting him would be impossible.
"What the fuck are you doing in here?" Adam said, stepping inside, leaving the door open. He grabbed Cas' shirt by the collar and pushed him to the wall, next to the door. The one with the pictures.
"I-i..." Cas was unable to form a proper response. Adam's gaze lifted from Castiel's face and onto the wall. A small brown frame with a picture of Cas smiling hang between other family pictures Dean must've taken it from Castiel's house. His frowned and looked back at Cas.
"Talk!" He yelled, raising his arm, his hand forming a fist. He launched it, targeting Cas' face.
"Hey!" Dean yelled, as he grabbed Adam's arm jerking him away from Cas.
"What the hell do you think you're doing?" He growled as he pushed Adam. His eyes were filled with fury.
"What am I doing?" He stepped closer to Dean "What's this fag doing here?" Adam yelled in response, pointing at Cas but still looking at Dean.
"This...Fag..." Dean's fist collided with Adam's jaw "Is MY boyfriend!"
"Cas! Do something!" Sammy yelled, he was still standing at the door
Sam's voice finally caused Cas to snap out of his 'frozen' state. He stepped forward, standing in the middle between Dean and Adam. He took Dean's hands in his
"Stop it Dean. He can't hurt me anymore. It's over."
Cas' blue eyes were all it took to calm Dean down. He let out a deep breath and turned to Adam who was now holding his jaw.
"You see this? I am his and he is mine...and there's nothing you or dad can do about it." His voice came out calm and strong.
Adam stood up, walking toward the door, Sam moved away. He turned back to them "This is far from over." And left.
Sam closed the door. "The hell with him."
Dean gave Cas a quick kiss and stepped back, taking off his jacket and throwing it on the small counter, dividing the kitchen with the rest of the room.
"So what's for dinn-" Dean froze over the plate of Cheeseburgers. He looked up at Cas.
"How did you know?" He smiled.
"Know what?" Cas asked
"The double bacon cheeseburgers!"
"Oh..Uh...Well i kinda saw you devouring them at school once and i thought you'd like them."
Dean kissed him.
"You're perfect, you know that?"
"Guys, i'll puke!" Sam joked
"Oh really? Check this!" Dean said signaling Sam to the plate with the veggie burgers.
"Oh my God Cas! Dean you should marry him" He laughed. Dean looked at Cas and smirked, not answering.
Cas blushed. "O-kay, now go wash your hands and i'll set the table."
"Gosh...Sammy we gotta watch out for this one. Too bossy" Dean and Sam laughed as they went to the bathroom.
After awhile, the table was set and they were all eating. Dean had already chugged a couple of burgers. Cas and Sam were only halfway through with the first one. They spent their evening, sitting there, talking. Sam told them about how his Teacher's wig got blown away while he was lecturing them about the civil war. They laughed. It was unbelievable for Cas. How he found a proper Home, a family in just a few weeks...It seemed like a miracle had finally happened.
After they were all finished, Dean took Sam to bed as Cas started cleaning the kitchen.
"Comfrotable" Dean asked as he pulled the blanket over Sammy's shoulders. Sam nodded.
"Dean...Can you do me a favour?"
"Absolutely, buddy. What'd you need?"
"Don't leave Cas...He's a great guy and he makes you happy and i like seeing you happy..."
Dean smiled. He slowly leaned down and pressed a soft kiss on Sam's forehead.
"I won't, Sammy. I promise." He got up and walked to the door. "Goodnight, Sammy, i love you."
"Love you too, Dean."
Dean turned out the light and pulled the door, leaving it just an inch open.
He went to the kitchen to find Cas, facing the sink, washing the dishes. He placed his arms aroung the smaller boy, putting his chin on his shoulder.
"Whatcha doin'?" He said in a cute, funny voice.
"Oh well, y'know, just stopping the apocalypse, exorcising Demons...Normal stuff." Cas joked.
"Ha-ha" Dean faked a laugh. He pressed his lips on the back of Cas' ear, sending a warm vibe allover the his body.
"Y-you want a beer?" Cas asked.
Dean said "Sure." as he walked to the couch, falling on it with a loud thump.
Few moments later, he was joined by Castiel who was holding two beer bottles in hand. Dean took one and made some room for Cas to sit.
"So what happened today?" Dean asked, sipping from his beer bottle.
"Well i was cooking and the doorbell rang and i thought it'd be you. So i opened and it was Adam...It was my fault...i'm stupid i should've checked." Cas looked down.
"Hey!" Dean said, holding Cas' chin. "You did nothing wrong! Okay?"
Cas nodded.
"Dean..." Cas said hesitantly. "I know...you probably won't tell me...But what happened? With your family i mean...You're raising Sammy...Where are your parents?"
Dean looked down and raised the bottle to his lips, chuggin down the rest of the beer in it.
"Wh-when Sammy was born, everything was perfect. My dad had started his own bar, best bar in town. A classic american dream type of family. And then...couple years later, my mom was diagnosed with cancer." Dean's voice cracked the moment he said that word.
Cas moved closer to Dean, puttin his head on Dean's chest.
"I remember the day she found out, she came home from the Hair salon she was working. She made dinner, just like any other day, we all sat down and ate...Except my dad...he was always at the bar...So i took Sam and headed upstairs as she was cleaning. She sat down and waited for him to come back. Like always, he came home drunk at 3 a.m or whatever...And then, voices, yelling and all that junk...I took Sammy and went to Bobby's house. After that, my mom came by. She..." Dean paused. Cas looked up and saw couple of teardrops running down his cheeks. Cas ran his thumb over them.
"Baby it's okay. You don't have to keep going..."
"N-no...I'm fine..."
Cas nodded and put his head on Dean's chest again, now intertwining their fingers together.
"She said goodbye. She left us that day. Just like that. No reason why, no nothing. Sam and I found out she had cancer 7 years later, Christmas Day... when a lawyer came to our house. He told us she...she was dead and that she had bought this place for us...She knew my dad was scum...She must've worked for years just to get this place for us to escape..." Dean looked around the apartment. "She gave us a way out, and i took it. I moved here with Sammy...Soon after, I found out that my dad had found a more elegant bitch, better than those he screwed everyday. She had a son, Adam...And i tried man...i tried to make things work...I car pooled everyday, i tried to get closer to him but as you saw nothing worked...But i kept trying. Until the day he hurt you. I couldn't pretend anymore so i lashed out. I threw a tantrum. I don't know what he wanted here today and i don't care. As long as i have you...I'm happy."
