Months went by without them noticing. Christmas were really close now.

Dean had decided he should drop school. He got a job at Bobby's auto shop. Soon after, Cas dropped out too. He believed his position was at Home, taking care of his family. It's not like school had anything to offer anyway.

Their relationship withered as time went by. Small things...Dean not laughing as much. Or coming home an hour later every night, because he was at The Roadhouse...Moving away from Cas in general.

He, on the other side, was lost. He didn't know what to do, or how to deal with the situation. He tried talking with Dean hundreds of times. But Dean kept the same cold distance, as if Cas had done something to hurt him. Like he didn't love him anymore...

Castiel's only source of hope was little Sammy. Always telling him to "Hold on, he'll turn around. He's just tired." Poor kid...he had to deal with all of this...This isn't the way kids are supposed to live.

Cas was tired. As much as he loved Dean, this had gone too far.

And one night, December 23rd it was...It all fell apart...

Sammy was asleep and Cas was watching TV, waiting for Dean. At about Twelve at night, he heard the keys turn on the lock. He turned around from the small couch to face the door as it opened. Dean came in, the white in his eyes had now turned slightly red, giving away the fact that he was drinking.

"Hey" Cas smiled, a small, tired smile. His voice came out rough and silent.

"Hi." Dean said coldly. He placed his jacket at the chair next to the counter and walked to their bedroom, through the narrow hall.

Cas frowned

Here we go again. He thought as he got up and walked after Dean. As he passed outside Sam's door he pulled it slowly, shutting it completely.

"Baby?" Cas called gently as he walked into the bedroom. Dean was standing in front of him, his back turned, shirtless.

Dean didn't answer. He just stood there. The muscles on his back seemed tense. Cas slowly moved forward, slipping his arms around Dean's stomach.

"Don't." Dean said sharply and Cas jerked back. Tears came running down his face that same second.

"Just...just tell me what i've done!" Cas said silently, sobbing between each word. "I love you!" Cas grabbed Dean's shoulder, causing him to spin around and face him. His cheeks were flushed and there were tears on them.

Dean looked down. "We...We're done..." he whispered.

"No...No! Don't you dare! No!" Cas threw himself forward, he pushed Dean and ended up sitting on the edge of the bed, his face buried inside his hands, trying to muffle every sob...every scream...

"Just tell me why..." He said few moments later.

"Remember your fight with Samuel and my fight with Adam?" Dean's voice was cold and decisive.

Cas nodded.

"Looks like they teamed up. Everyday after that, i've been receiving threatening messages, phone calls, letters. They wanted me to leave you or they'd hurt Bobby or Helen or Sammy...And i could never tell you to go back to him."

Cas looked up. "I'm sorry, Dean...I'm sorry..." He slowly got up and moved to the closet, opening it and taking out his suitcase. Dean stayed silent and few seconds later he locked himself in the bathroom.

Every piece of clothing that Cas stuffed inside his suitcase, caused him a sharp pain in the stomach. He could never believe things would end this way...But it looks like you can't always have what you want.
