I looked behind me and watched the entire bedroom slowly engulf itself into flames. Her screams were beyond gone now. Michael told us that I have limited time, I need to run up in the attic and grab his phone that was most likely in his pocket and escape this house before I get caught with this mass murder.
I quickly ran up the hallway and yanked the attic stairs down and sprinted upstairs. The moment I was officially in the attic, I could smell heavy iron. It was as if the blood was shoved up my nose completely. I looked around the dark and fast walked over to Michael's torn body and grabbed his iPhone out from his pocket and pressed the home button, but of course he had a pass-code. I don't have time to just stand around and find out a dumb code.
I made my way back down the attic steps and pushed them back into their place and thought quickly. I am wearing a bloody hospital gown so if I want to escape here looking normal and sane I need to wear normal clothes. I ran into his bedroom and grabbed the first pair of clothes I could find in Emma's closet. I looked around to see if I needed anything else, but then I remembered nothing in here was mine or hers. I decided to make a risky move and take a quick shower in the house rather than put on brand new clothes on my bloody body. The shower lasted about two minutes of me rinsing off all the dried up blood off my skin. Once I was done I threw on the clothes and made a break for it.
Once I reached the first floor I went up to the garage door and kicked the heavy door down. I looked over to the light switch and turned on all the lights. If I would have known Michael had all these nice cars, I would have escaped long ago. In his three car garage he had a brand new Mercedes, Bentley, and lastly a Porsche SUV. I had no idea which one to choose, so I decided to go along with the SUV. I searched around the garage for the keys and found them hanging on a rack next to the other keys. Time to get the fuck out of here. I clicked the garage door open and turned on the engine as I waited for the door to open completely. Once I was clear I pressed hard on the gas and went flying. I was now free. Emma and I are free, we don't have to suffer anymore. I am free! I let a smile escape from my face as I sped off and found the nearest freeway. The farther I drove down the highway my location became more obvious to me. Once I passed Indiana Avenue, I recognized that this entire time we have been in the middle of nowhere in Riverside. Emma and I have been so far yet so close to home this entire time and yet never realized it.
The rest of the way down, I spent the entire time going a flat 100 miles per hour just trying to get into safety zone of San Diego County. By the time I had reached Oceanside I had to stop the car to get some gas, I pulled over to the closest gas station and parked the car. I felt as if everyone knew who I was and couldn't stop staring at me as I looked around the car for money...every time I would look up from the car everyone would pretend they weren't staring. I ended up finding a solid 50 dollar bill in the secret compartment the car had and walked over to the clerk at the cash register. While the clerk was punching in the numbers to give me back my receipt, I overheard the TV in the gas station explaining the newest breaking news involving Michael Artero's mass murder found in his home. I quickly snatched my receipt and pumped the gas into the car before speeding back off onto the freeway. It wasn't until I reached La Mesa when Emma decided to wake up.
Where the fuck am I? Why the fuck am I driving?
"OH SHIT!" I screamed while swerving away from the car to the right of me.
"Emma watch out, let me fucking drive." I ordered while stealing the wheel from Emma.
"Why the fuck am I in the car? Where is Bella? What about Arizona? Danielle? Samantha? What about Michael?" Emma asked in fear.
"We escaped Emma, now let go of the wheel before you kill us!"
"No, I need to turn back to go get the girls! Where the fuck are we? Are we in La Mesa? No!" I snatched the wheel and tried to switch lanes before Anastasia yanked the wheel back.
"Slow the fuck down Emma! We are going 110 now!"
"Are you not listening to me? We need to go get the girls! Michael could have done something to them!"
"HE DIDN'T DO SHIT! YOU KILLED THEM!" I finally blurted out to Emma.
"We what?" She looked over at me and I looked back at her right before crashing into the concrete barrier separating the North bound to the South bound causing us both to slide into the ongoing traffic.
