Bright blue lights that were quite hazy passed by as Marco, Ponyhead, and myself as we were whooshed through the portal toward some random dimension that Ponyhead was dragging her to. Just like old times. Star grinned as she was dropped from the portal onto something extremely soft and light. If silk and feathers somehow could make clouds, that's what this was. Star smiled happily, the clouds bringing back many simple and happy memories with her best friend. Before her trip to St. Olga's, this was her favorite place ever: The Bounce Lounge.
Star was so lost in thought that she didn't even realize that Marco had landed, face first, onto a solid piece of dance floor while Ponyhead floated down onto the cloud couch beside Star. Marco stared around while Ponyhead nodded with the beat of pop music playing and Star was completely lost in her memories.
"Uhhh... Where are we..?" Marco inquired slowly. He knew Star was magic but this was a bit ridiculous to say the least. Marco made a mental note to have Star explain everything to him.
"The Bounce Lounge!" Star and Ponyhead replied. "Our favorite place to chiiiiiiill.." Ponyhead added with a smile toward Star.
Marco looked disgusted and slightly annoyed with how they said chill. Marco gritted his teeth and beamed a fake smile, trying not to be rude, saying, "Yeah okay, never say that again." Marco's signature arrogant smirk returned to his face. He acted confident that they would surely listen to him. Star felt herself frown but she wasn't focused on that. She was more focused on what she was feeling. 'Was it admiration?... Nope definitely not, don't even what to know why I would've thought it could've been that... Maybe distrust?... No, that one doesn't make sense... Perhaps... Rebellion?... That one feels like the right one..' Star thought to herself (feeling quite proud she had figured out what the feeling was called) not realizing that Ponyhead was dragging her and Marco along to the photo booth and that Marco was grumbling the whole time.
"You CRAZY BODY-LESS horse!!!! Get your candy cane of a horn AWAY FROM ME!!!" Marco huffed loudly at Ponyhead. Ponyhead muttered something like 'earth-turd idiot' before giving one last mighty shove and pushing them both in the booth. Star shooed her lingering thoughts away and turned as Ponyhead pushed the curtain back into place for photos.
"I can't believe you remembered I loved this photo booth Pony! This is most definitely incredible!" Star beamed at Ponyhead meaningfully. Star honestly felt awfully guilty. Here was her best friend trying to do the things she and her used to do but Star had changed drastically from her old self. Her wild and random style and personality had been forcibly torn to shreds and tossed out the window like food scraps that not even the family dog would eat. Now she was demure, quiet, submissive and obedient; like a true and perfect princess and future ruler should be. But her best friend believed that Star, no matter how much she's changed, believed she was still worth hanging out with and having great times with. Even with a 'downer', as Ponyhead put it, like Marco hanging around Star constantly.
Pony gold star pupils shined with happiness and replied "Of course, girl," She drew out 'girl' excitedly. "I missed ya and figured you might like this! Anyway, are we gonna pose for pics or what?! We gotta lot to do!" Ponyhead neighed in anticipation and threw her head back, nearly skewering Marco.
"HEY!!! WATCH IT UNICORN-COB YOU NEARLY TOOK MY HEAD OFF!!!" Marco yelled at Ponyhead furiously. Marco was this close to seeing red if it weren't for Star calmly scooting in between Ponyhead and Marco. Marco growled and Ponyhead glared at him, not wanting to make a scene like he did in front of Star. Marco had no clue what it was but this pony completely bends him out of shape. No, she snaps him in half. That's how annoying she is to him.
"Alright, now that that is settled, let's take some pictures!" Star said enthusiastically and after a few girly pictures with Marco smirking off to the side (not being creepy but more like disinterested) in nearly every one of them. Except for one when Star made a funny face because Pony had begged her to do one and Marco laughed. He genuinely laughed. Not a snort; not a grunt; but a true laugh. Star felt like she succeeded at something when she heard him laugh. Weird, right?
"Hey come you two! Let's PARTAYYY!! Woohoooooooo!!!!" Ponyhead yelled and went off to dance somewhere, leaving Marco and Star alone together. Well, Star was alone but Marco soon wandered back to her. Star was about to follow Pony but she had disappeared into the crowd and Star didn't think it was very wise to leave Marco alone in an unfamiliar place. She exhaled uncomfortably. She hadn't been to a party in, well... Forever.
"Star, come on let's just go. This is super lame." Marco hissed, grabbing her hand and began dragging her out of the crowd. Marco was extremely furious but Star had no idea what. Star never would have been able to guess what he was thinking of either. Marco's thoughts were focused on what Ponyhead had stated in the photo-booth while Star had her head in the clouds. Along with what a certain coffee mug had said to him.
