Dedicated to a certain Karen~
Slowly, I made my way towards my husband to be. Next to me was you, my lover. A smile adorned your face, but it didn't reach those crystal blue eyes. Your face was smiling while your heart was frowning. I couldn't understand why would you offer to walk me down the aisle to marry someone else.
“I love you, and I want you to be happy, but if that happiness isn't with me, I don't want that. I want you to have kids and grow old.” You said as you cupped my face and kissed me gently. Tears streamed down my face as I kissed you back.
“But my happiness is with you. I want you, and no one else. I don't want to marry your brother!” I slammed my hands on your chest, your face was unchanged, still the same sweet smile, this time mixed with sadness. “You know you can't do that. Your father would kill you and me if he ever found out we were together.” You said as you wiped away my tears.
“Don't worry about me. I'll manage.” You said as I wrapped my arms around your shoulders. My body trembled as you held me so close, I was afraid of loosing you, I guess it was too late to say that. You were going to loose me. “I love you.” I whispered in your ears as you shook your head and pulled yourself away from me.
“You don't mean that. Please don't say that.” You gulped and ran your hand through those wild dark brown curls. “I do. And I mean it, I love you, no matter what. I want you, I want you in your highs or lows. I want you when the days are dark and lonely. I want you when there is no tomorrow and no happy ending. I'll always want you, even when we are old and wrinkly, I'll still want you.” I said, staring directly into your eyes.
“I'll be walking you down the aisle.” You mumbled as you kissed my forehead and turned away. “Don't try to fight destiny.” You said once more before walking away completely from me.
“I always want you, no matter what.” I whispered into your ear as you shook your head and finally we arrived in front of my soon husband. Tall, muscular edges, angry looking, nothing that was you to compare. Soft, warm, gentle, happy and so kind.
Still, I want you.
