Chapter 13 : The Golden Egg

I soon follow everyone into the Gryffindor common room.

My Slytherin scarf around my shoulders, a few dirty looks here and there. Harry is lifting the golden egg, people around him cheering.

"We knew you wouldn't die Harry" George says lifting him up onto his and Fred's shoulders, lifting him above the crowd.

"Lose a leg" Fred speaks.

"Or an arm" George speaks.

"Pack it in altogether" Fred finishes.

"NEVER!" They shout in unison, Seamus made his way past us and stood I front of the twins with Harry on their shoulders.

"Go on Harry, what's the clue ?" Seamus asks. Harry holds it beside him.

"Who wants me to open it ? You want me to open it ?" He asks, everyone lets out a cheer in reply to his question.

Clapping my hands in excitement, wondering what the next clue was.

Harry opens the egg and is sent to the floor as George and Fred's knees buckle, the egg lets out a horrific screech.

Clasping both my hands to my ears, hoping that my ears don't bleed due to the blood curdling screech.

"What the bloody hell was that ?" Ron asks, appearing in the doorway taking his hands away from his ears, everyone has shifted to one side to show him. He gives me a weak smile.

"Alright everyone, go back to your. . .knitting, this is gonna be uncomfortable enough without all you nosey sods listening in" George says, the crowd disperses.

"You too Elyse" George says, walking me to the portrait hole.

"Fine," I slightly whine, the portrait swings open slightly "I'll see you at the next trial ?" I asked, hopeful, my eyes skim across his face and land on his lips. I take advantage of the moment, kissing him on the cheek.

"You can count on it" George breaths, giving me a wink. The portrait hole closes and make my way down my common room.

Does George like me ?

I can only hope.
