They swam around in the cold pond, splashing at each other and ignoring the rocks cutting their feet at the bottom. The pond was hooded by green, the trees growing around it creating what felt like another plane entirely. It was magical, and the love floating through the air made it even more so.

But every time Jaeyoon looked at Inseong, his eyes kept getting caught somehow, like when his wings got tangled in a door that one time except a little less painful. And every time his eyes got caught, there was a twinge in his chest - a funny kind of feeling that he couldn't quite decipher. He couldn't tell if it was a good feeling or a bad one.

Whenever he and Inseong shared a smile, the feeling leaned towards good.

And he was okay with that.

He wasn't okay with how he began to think more of him and Inseong than Inseong and Youngbin.

But he was also okay with doing nothing about that.

It felt like the part of him that was left empty by his hidden wings was being filled. He didn't need the freedom of air, he just needed the freedom of love.

Of course, not his own love. Amorini never fell in love with mortals.

He wondered why. Maybe it had to with the fact that doing so got you tried in the High Court for treason - and if you were found guilty, they'd strip you of your wings. But could amorini even fall in love with mortals? Jaeyoon knew it was easy to fall in love with almost anything, so why were mortals an exception? Maybe it was something about amorinis' hearts, or their chemical makeups.

He cast all thoughts out of his head and brought himself back to the present. Coelum was the past and the future now.

Usually on missions, he couldn't stop thinking about the past and the future; waiting to get back because he hated the present; the mortal world.

Now, he almost hated to think about going back to Coelum.
