*Julian's POV*

"Go ahead!" I yell at Zoe's retreating back. "Just walk away because you don't like what you hear!"

From my distance away I can see her raise her right hand in the air and flip me off before continuing on her way without so much as a second glance.

"I hate you!" I yell and kick the closest tire to me. "I hate you! I hate you! I hate you!"

I turn around and, using the car for support, slide down to the ground. Pulling my knees up to my chest I cover my face with my bangs, rest my forehead on my kneecaps, and do something I haven't done in a while.

I cry.

I cry because she's gone. I cry because she's out there unprotected. I cry because I didn't do anything to stop her.

Why hadn't I stopped her? I should have said something. Told her she means more to me than a thousand of the other girls. Told her that when she's gone I feel incomplete. I should have told her the trut. Without her, I got nothing.

I lift my head up and look at my kneecaps. My jeans are soaked from where my tears had seeped into the black denim. I can't lose her again. But, my dad needs me in the Underworld. When I'm done there, I decide, I'll go back to camp and see her. I'll go back and make everything right.

After standing up and brushing off my pants I sit back in the driver's seat and put the car in drive. Once a few minutes, which seemed like hours, have passed, I finally let myself accept the fact that I need her. I'm lonely. The time's not flying by like it usually does. It's inching by, taking its time.

My eyes land on something dangling from the rearview mirror. It's a gold locket in the shape of a hear with intricate designs covering the locket itself. I reach over and open it. On one side, the left, is a picture of her and Andy at the beach. I know that picture. It was taken, by me, a week before she was attacked. The one on the right is a picture of me...

Me!

I look one more time to make sure my lovesick eyes aren't playing tricks on me. Sure enough, there's a piture of me and Zoe when she was about fifteen and I was seventeen. She's cut herself out though, so it looks like I'm kissing the side of the locket, not her cheek. Why does she still have it?

I'm about to reach out again and take the locket off the mirror when I hear an eardrum-shattering roar. The next thing I see is a whisp of black in the rearview mirror and then the car lurches up from beneath me.

The car flips a few times before coming to a stop in the middle of the road. Something is walking towards me and the car but all I can make out through my blurring vision is a black mass.

Then, darkness.

*Zoe's POV*

I give the flight attendant my ticket and she smiles before scanning it and nodding for me to go down to the plane. I smile back and follow a woman and her son down the ramp to the waiting passenger jet. Through a window in the ramp I see "Olympian Airlines" written on the side of the plane and the letters are poised on a cloud. I smirk. How ironic.

Making my way down the aisle of the jet I look for a seat right on the wing, my favorite spot to sit while flying. I smile when I see the woman and her baby sit there, but they leave the seat by the window open.

"Excuse me, can I sit there?" I ask, gesturing to the open seat.

"Please, go ahead," The woman smiles kindly and I take my seat beside her. I notice that she has long brown hair, much like me, and violet eyes. Her baby has black hair, probably the father's, and her violet eyes. "He got his father's black hair," She says, noticing my staring at the baby. "I wished he'd get his father's grey eyes and not the hair. I love his grey eyes."

My chest tightens a little bit. She could be me from the future holding me and Julian's kid. I mentally laugh at myself for thinking such nonsense. I need to get that jerk out of my head as soon as possible. The sooner I get back to camp and my sword-fight training the better.

Soon, but not soon enough, everyone is in their seats and ready to go. The flight attendants give their usual Emergency Procedure speech, and then the captain comes on over the intercom.

"Good afternoon, everyone, this is Hermes, your captain, speaking-" I roll my eyes and look out the window. Of course my dad would send my uncle to look after me.

Hermes gives the usual pilot speech, as if he knows what he's doing, and then the plane pulls out onto the runway. We start gatherin speed and everything becomes a blur, and then we lift gracefully up into the sky and are airborn.

"Would a young, seventeen year old girl by the name of Zoe please come to the cockpit? Zoe please come to the cockpit. Thank you." Hermes, excuse me, our pilot, says over the loudspeaker.

"That's me...my uncle is driving the plane..." I say.

"Oh, sure, go ahead," The woman smiles kindly again and lets me out into the aisle.

Some people give me uncomfortable stares as i walk by while most just ignore me, as they're either asleep, reading, or engrossed in some sort of electronic device. I walk up the aisle until I reach the cockpit. A blond flight attendant smiles and opens the door.

I take a deep breath and walk in.
