Chapter 15: Nasir

"Keymani! Cameron! Yani! Go play in the backyard." I said as the adults and I gathered together on the patio. We all had a glass of wine of our hands just chilling and catching up on old times. Tyrone was on the grill preparing the meat. "Nasir! I want you to meet somebody. This is Rayne. Rayne, this is my girl Nasir." I shook her hand and gave her a welcoming home. "It's a pleasure to meet you. You have a lovely home." Rayne said. "Thank you. Help yourself to some wine."

"You already know I'm bout to." Myra ignorant ass said. I rolled my eyes. "We're on the patio. Feel free to join us." I walked back outside and sat down in a chair next to Terrence. "No, who remembers when King first met Nasir?" Jay said. "Save this story for when I come back from the bathroom." Terrence said walking back into the house. I cover my face with my hand. "Can we not talk about this please?" I said slightly embarrassed. "No, I wanna know." Myra and Rayne came outside. Rayne walked over to the grill and tapped Tyrone on the shoulder. "It's good to see you again." She said and licked her lips. "Do I know you?" Tyrone raised his eyebrow at her. "You better not fucking know her!" Lizbeth got up and sat her drink down, "Why the fuck you touching my man bitch?"

"Your man? Myra told me he was single!" Rayne said glaring at Myra. "I told you Terrence was single not Tyrone! That's his twin brother!" Rayne looked at Tyrone in pure embarrassment, "Oh my God! I'm so sorry."

"Yeah bitch you better be sorry! I was two seconds from skinning your ass alive! I've been needing a new rug anyway."

"Nuh uh. You been around Tyrone too fucking long. Now you wanna skin people alive. Shake my head." I said laughing my ass off. If Rayne was light-skinned, her whole face would be red right about now. Terrence walked back outside. "What did I miss?" He asked sitting back down. "A whole lot." I mumbled and gulped my wine down.

. . . . . . .

By the end of the night, the children were sleep, and we all moved the party to the living room. We were having lots of laughs as we caught up with each other. "On the phone though Myra? That's so nasty!" Lizbeth said covering her eyes, "I'll kill a bitch if I had to listen to her and her man fuck on the phone."

"What are you talking about? When we were coming from vacation a few weeks ago, we fucked in the airplane bathroom. I know all them people heard you. 'Oooo yesss Tyrone!' 'Yes daddy!'" We all started to laugh as Tyrone imitated Lizbeth. "Shut the fuck up!" Lizbeth started to hit Tyrone. "I'm sorry bae. I'm sorry!" I looked around and saw Rayne staring at me. What the fuck is this chick's problem? She stared at me all day. I'm starting to think she's gay or something. "So Nasir, how long have you and King been together?" I sipped my new glass of wine, "Since high school. We have been inseparable ever since."

"When did he die?"

"Wait, Rayne that's a touchy-" I held my hand up at Myra. "No I'm fine. He died three years ago."

"How?"

"He was shot."

"By?"

"You ask a lot of questions."

"Well you have a lot of answers." The tension started to grow between me and Rayne. I don't fucking like this chick; she's rubbing me the wrong way. Why is she asking me all of these questions about King? She acts like she knows something I don't. "Come on Rayne. I think it's time to call it a night." Myra said getting up. Rayne remained in her seat and just stared at me. What the fuck is this bitch staring at? "Is there a problem?" I said setting my drink down on the coffee table. Rayne smiled, "No. No problem at all. Maybe it is time for me to go. Come on Myra." Rayne grabbed her purse and set the empty wine glass on the table, "It's been a pleasure."

"Let me walk you out." Terrence got up and grabbed her hand leading her to the door. I rolled my eyes. Good riddance.
