"We need to stop this. Now." His voice small yet firm. My whole body tensed.
Stop? Now?
Initially, I felt shocked and confused. Then came sadness and anger. Then I just felt... defeated. I knew this was coming. Our arrangement isn't exactly for lo...

Carmella's POV
"Carmella! The breakfast is ready! Come on down, you don't want to be late!" my mom, Tracy, yelled from downstairs.
It's Monday. I looked at myself in the mirror for the last time. Observing my outfit for the day. Simple pastel pink short sleeved shirt paired with dark skinny jeans and white sneakers. Seeing I look okay, I grabbed my backpack and binder then I raced downstairs to eat my breakfast.
"Good morning, mom." I greeted. Placing my things on the kitchen counter, taking a stool I snatched the plate of pancakes from my mom's hands. She just grinned.
"Easy there, honey. No one's going to take your pancakes away." Turning she went back to cooking.
The back door leading to the garden opened. My dad, Kristoff, sauntered in. Removing his gloves full of dirt from gardening, he neared me and placed a kiss on the top of my head. My dad is a tall man. Six foot one. I do wish I got his height, but no, my mom's DNA decided that I should just stop at 5 foot 3. He's also lean with the right amount of muscles but his age can't hide away the flab. His intelligent eyes were surrounded with wrinkles, though in my opinion he looked younger than his actual age of 58.
"Good morning, princess." He greeted. I'm a total daddy's girl and I won't ever deny it. We actually look more alike than I with my mom. We have the same dark caramel hair and hazel brown eyes but I've got my mom's heart shaped face.
"Good morning, my King." I giggled. When I was younger my parents and I would joke around about being a royal family, my mom's the queen, my dad's the king, and of course I'm the princess.
"Come on, Kris. Let your daughter finish her food and wash your hand. Your pancakes are almost ready." My mom said. Flipping the pancake over.
"Okay. Okay. I'll just go change my clothes. Maxi decided it was fun to tackle me after digging the dirt and leave his paw prints all over my white shirt." He chuckled and went to the bathroom. Maxi is our dog. He's a German shepherd.
My mom just shook her head. Maybe thinking how hard it'll be to remove those stains.
I finished my pancake in no time. I looked at my watch. 6:17 am. My first class starts at 7. I've got plenty of time to walk to school. Normally my boyfriend, Joseph, picks me up but today he's out of town. He had to visit his father in Canada who was in an accident.
I kissed my mom goodbye and told her to say bye to dad for me. I burst out of our front door, inhaling the morning breeze of September.
It was a 20 minute walk from our house to my university. Thankfully, or else I would have to pay for a dorm and my family's humble income can't really afford that. My mom's a sales representative of a cosmetic brand while my dad is a driver from some rich family. The house we currently lived in was originally from my aunt Kelly, my mom's sister. She migrated and settled to another country with his husband and left the house to us. Bless her soul.
