Hello, I'm Crystal Kaligian. I'm a Hufflepuff, although there's times where I believe I should have been placed in Ravenclaw. However, I like my house. I'm a fifth year student and, a muggle-born Yes, I am muggle-born, but the only people that seem to have an issue with that is Slytherin. I'm not the most popular or the prettiest in the house, but I get along with everyone, and my friends tell me what guys like me, but they're just not my type. My two best friends, Kelly and Jennifer, are also in Hufflepuff, so we do everything together, and talk to each other about everything. My favorite class is Care of Magical Creatures, and I've taken it since my third year, and have loved every single second of it. Everyone else has only taken the required time for the class, except for me and one other Hufflepuff, Newt Scamander. We've become close during those years, I guess you can say that we are best friends, but I may have feelings for him.

*Kelly, Jennifer, and I are eating french toast, fruit, and bacon in the Great Hall on Saturday morning*

"So then, I told him you better back away or else I'll jinx you; and he ran away" Jennifer laughs

She had just finished telling us her story about her encounter with a first year trying to copy off her homework, but I wasn't really paying attention I was skimming through my book 'Care of Magical Creatures' and was taking some notes on a sheet of parchment.

"Honestly Crystal did you even pay attention to a single word that came out of my mouth. " Jennifer asked, obviously irritated.

"Apologies what? Kind of. No sorry. I really need to do well in this portion of the OWL's and N.E.W.T's in order to become a veterinarian (couldn't find anything to the wizarding equivalent of a vet so just go with it)" I apologized.

"Jeez, I really think you should have been placed in Ravenclaw " Kelly said.

"Sometimes I think that as well, yet then I'll say something unpredictable and random. Hey, is that Newt?" I questioned, as I jerked my head to the large doors of the Great Hall.

"And that's where the 'unpredictable and random' comes into play," Kelly giggled.

I saw it humorous the way Newt ran into the hall. His hair was utter mess or partially ginger, partially brown hair. Curly and frizzy, while normally in his eyes, it was behind him at the speed he was awkwardly running at. Lanky and clumsy, he didn't know how to run. It was like a mix of a side-step and a speed-walk. He ran almost into us three at the Hufflepuff table.

"Morning, Newt!" I said, immediately regretting, because I felt as though I said it too loud. Did I? Was it just in my head? I couldn't tell, but around him, I got nervous over the silliest things.

I soon forgot all of my worries when he ran his hand through his hair, in an effort to fix it, but just progressively making it worse. It was adorable.

"Um, Crystal? Could you, just by any chance, possibly, um, meet me at the, what's-it-called..." He tried pointing to the direction of the landmark, trying to remember the name, as it was on the tip of his tongue. "Staircase to the common room! Yes, that's it. Meet me there in around ten minutes, please."

He ran off, exactly the way he came in. paused for a second, halfway out the door, trying to remember if he forgot something, but then ran off after a few seconds.

"He's definitely a Hufflepuff," Jennifer whispered.

"Oh, come on guys," I started, "He's really nice." They knew about my crush on him for sometime now. They just enjoyed to tease me.

Jennifer smirked. "I think that he really likes you."

Kelly chimed in. "Me too. He looks at you in a special way. Like, not a googly-eyed, lovey-dovey way, but, in a gentle, warm, I-want-to-give-you-a-hug-right-now kind of way," she said completely serious.

"Guys, I know you want to give me hope, but I don't think that he likes me the way that I do him. It just wouldn't work out." I said, putting my books into my arms.

"Give it time," Kelly said, "You're spending a lot of time together. You like the same things, and maybe you could help the awkward little thing out of his shell."

"Maybe, but I have to get going. I'll see you ladies later," I said, leaving the Great Hall.

I walked down to the staircase that led to our common room. It was next to the kitchen, so it smelled of maple and pancake batter. I saw Newt. He was anxiously pacing back and forth. I stood for a second, just to admire his quirks. How he would run his hands through his hair, how he would pace and mutter things to himself, and I just couldn't help but giggle. I walked over toward him, and he saw me. He immediately grabbed my wrist and raced over to a different direction then the common room

"Newt!" I yelled, "Where are we going?"

I loved when he did things like this. The first time, we saw an injured unicorn in the forbidden forest, and we wound up nursing it back to health. Next, we found an occamy egg, and we watched its shining silver crack, and open up a baby occamy right before our eyes. Most recently, we found a niffler, who has been starting a lot of trouble around school.

"I'm going to show you something amazing," He said, with a goofy smile on his face.

We ran and ran, until we turned one corner. Newt immediately slowed down. He peeked around the next, and then took my hands, and led me to a dead end, or what I thought to be. A giant door appeared right in front of us. Even though I was in my fifth year, magic still somehow amazed me.

He took me into a well-lit room with a couch, a fireplace, some bookshelves, and a single wooden suitcase on the middle of the floor.

I walked, turning as I went through the room, so I could see every corner, every crevice of the room.

"Where are we?"

"The Room of Requirement."

"And what are we doing here?" I questioned him completely confused

"There's something very special I need to show you." He said with his eyes glimmering with excitement and mischievousness.

His gaze moves from me to something on the floor in the middle of the room. I follow his gaze and it lands on an old, beat up, brown, leather case.
