I had woken up before the sun had risen, gotten dressed, and decided to leave my hair down that day, which I rarely did, since it was a bit cold. I walked over, and sat on the couch in the common room, looking through my homework assignments, and finishing up any mistakes or questions that I might have missed. I woke up this early every Monday morning to set myself up for the week, and to just simply organize myself. I also decided to write to my parents, asking if it would be alright to spend Christmas Holiday with Newt and his brother. I knew that they will be fine with it, because they absolutely love Newt, but with it being Christmas I wanted to double check.

Dear Mum and Dad,

School has been going great. I am getting especially good grades, and love all of my teachers. Our first trip to Hogsmeade is coming up, and I am just so excited to go back. Christmas Holiday is also coming up, and Newt asked me to spend it with him and his brother, Theseus, in Romania. We are going to learn about the creatures there, and possibly even dragons. Theseus has some business to do there, so that's why we are going. I already told Newt that I would love to go, but I needed to get your permission. I really want to go with him, I beg for you to approve.

Lots of Love,

Crystal

I walked over to the window, open and whistled for my owl, Storm. Storm was an eagle owl, she was white, but had spots of black and gray all over her feathers, which made her look like a Storm when she flew. Her bright, orange eyes would seem like lightning, contrasting so much from the rest of her body. She perched on the window sill while I tied the letter onto her leg.

"Take this to Mum and Dad, alright?" I said, kissing her head.

She cood before flying off. I finished everything, and sat in silence in a few minutes, listening to the house elves prepare breakfast next door, the birds outside, chirping, and the sound of people starting to wake up and get ready for the day. Students soon flooded into the common room, either doing homework, waiting for other friends, or simply talking to people before leaving. I spotted Kelly and Jennifer coming out from the girls side of the dormitory, and making their way over to me.

"Morning," I said, smiling.

"Good morning, are you ready for breakfast?" Jennifer asked

"Yes, but let's wait for Newt," I replied.

We sat there, talking about what classes we had that day, and how we have most of them with Slytherin. Oh, how delightful that is. Don't get me wrong, so many Slytherins are nice, but most of the people against muggle-borns seem to be in that house. I heard heavy footsteps running down the boys side of the dormitory, and instantly knew that they were Newt's. He was always very clumsy when coming down stairs, even though we had been at Hogwarts for five years at that point, he still hadn't gotten the hang of the changing stairs. At least once a week he got stuck on a set while trying to going to class. It was funny watching him panic, and the pure exasperation on his face.
