Viktor's POV

"Viktor." He said. I looked at him. He has his back to me. "Why don't we go our separate ways?" he said.

My eyes went wide. "Huh?" I said, shocked.

He shrugged. "Well, I said I'd only take you this far, right?" he said. I didn't answer. He sighed. "Well?" he asked.

"Yuuri." I said. "I think you should face the person when you ask." I said. He didn't turn. "Yuuri?" I called. "Why won't you turn to me?" I asked. He didn't answer. He's staring at the sky. "Yuuri - " I said and attempted to walk to him when he stopped me.

"Viktor." he said, his voice serious. "Don't you dare take a step. Answer me first. Do you want us to go separate ways?" he asked.

My heart tinged, I'm surprised. As a member of the Bureau who should hold no emotion and memories, I shouldn't have - huh? I stopped. Wait. Wait a minute. I think I forgot something so important. I looked at Yuuri. That's right. I'm a member of the Bureau. And I'm here to - I looked afar where the Central is. I looked at Yuuri again. That's right. I'm here to change this country's system, not to fall in lo - I stopped. Wait. What's that I supposed to think? I looked at Yuuri's back. My heart ached. I clenched my fist. Why the heck am I feeling these?! I can't, and shouldn't feel like this. I'm a member of the Bureau, for Pete's sake! We can't and supposed to should not feel emotions! So why ...

"Viktor." he called. I flinched. A tear fell from my eye. Huh? I wiped it, but another fell. And another. Huh? What? What are these - I wiped it again, but it just kept falling. "Viktor." he called again. His voice seemed...sad? "What's your answer?" he asked.

"Huh?" I asked, still bothered by the tears and remembered my objective. "Yuuri - "

"Your answer...Viktor." his voice cracked when he said my name. I saw his shoulder shook.

"Yuuri?" I called, wondering. "Yuuri, why are you - "

He sniffed. "Sorry. I guess I don't need to ask." he said, and turned to me. My eyes went wide with shock when I saw his face filled with tears. "You have to go to Central, right?" he said, and smiled.

My heart ached more. I clenched my fist. Why? Why do I feel hurt when he smiled like that - ? I stopped. Wait. 'like that'? why did I say 'like that'? I looked at him. "Yuuri - "

"What?" he asked. I tried to speak but stopped. Why can't I speak? I'm going to say something but it seemed like something's telling me not to. I thought. "Viktor." he said and looked straight to my eyes. He smiled. "This is goodbye." he said and tears fell from his eyes again. I opened my mouth to say something, but he stopped me. He shook his head. "No. You don't have to say something." he chuckled. "I'm just sentimental, coz, you know? I already treated you as a friend, and here we are, saying our - " he laughed. "Pfft. No. I'm just the one saying goodbye!" he said, then laughed. "Come on, Viktor. Say 'goodbye', too." he said and laughed again. More tears fell from his eyes.

I felt my heart being crushed. "Yuuri..." I said and attempted to touch him but he skipped towards the cliff.

"Say, Viktor." he said while looking down the cliff. "You want to know what I'm feeling right now?" he asked. I didn't answer. "It's this. Standing on the cliff. I felt like trying to reach out the sky - " he said and acted reaching the sky.

"Yuuri!" I said, panicked when I saw he's about to fall on the cliff.

He chuckled. "Geez, Viktor." he said, and stepped back away from the cliff. "Well, it's like that." he said.

"What?" I asked, puzzled.

He turned to me and smiled. "What I'm feeling." he said. "Well...it's not like you can understand it, anyway." he said and shrugged.

"Why...why did you said that?" I asked.

"Well..." he said, then looked at my face. "You're not - " he stopped. "Nevermind." he sighed. "Viktor." he said, serious. "This is now goodbye." he said. He smiled at me, then turned. He walked away from me.

"Yuuri..." I said, as I watch him take his steps, leaving me.

Chris' POV

"The - there it is!!!" we heard Georgi screamed from the control room. We were having our tea on the veranda.

We looked at each other, then went where he is. "Georgi! What is it?" Honda - san asked.

"I ...I've hacked the Japan's system!" he said. We exclaimed. "Thank God...!" he said, and his face crashed on the keyboard.

We patted his back, saying 'good work'. "Honda - san." Seung - gil said. "Are all our systems now back?" he asked.

He nodded. "Yeah." he said. "Thanks to Gerogi pulled an all - nighter." he said. We patted Georgi's back again. He's now asleep.

"Honda - san. Does it mean we can also contact Viktor now?" I asked. He nodded. I muttered 'yes!'. yurio clicked his tongue. Otabek pinched his cheeks. Yurio cursed. Otabek pinchd his cheeks again, harder. Honda - san just smiled at them. Seung - gil ignored them. I touched my earring. "Viktor?" I called. Nothing. I turned off my communicator and turned to them. "I still can't connect to Viktor." I said.

"Huh?" Honda - san said. "That's odd. Our system are all repaired now..." he said.

I sighed. "Well, he may just be in the shower or something..." I said. I don't want them to doubt Georgi's skill. Viktor may really be in a situation where he can't anwer his communicator. But...what situation may that be?

Georgi is still in dreamland. Seung - gil is leaning on the wall, poker - faced. Honda - san is rechecking the system once more. Otabek and Yurio is still bickering. Viktor...I hope you're safe...

Viktor's POV

"Yuuri..." I said as I watch him walk away from me. I clenched my chest. Why does it hurt? Just watching him walk away from me... "Yuuri..." tears fell from my eyes again. I closed my eyes, clenched my fist, then ran to him. "Yuuri, wait!" I said and grabbed his hand. "Yuuri - "

"I know." he said.

"Huh?"

He turned to me, smiling. "I know, Viktor. That's why I'm doing...this." he said and pulled his hand that I grabbed. He looked at my shocked face. He chuckled. "Don't be like that, Viktor." he said.

"Ha?" I asked, confused.

He looked at the ground, his feet fidgeting. "Don't be like that." he muttered. "Or else I won't let you go." he said in his lowest voice. He looked up to me, and smiled.

"Yuuri - " I took a deep breath, clearing my thoughts. "Could you please explain to me why are you behaving like this - "

"Viktor." he said in a serious tone. "You really don't understand, do you?" he said. "As expected of a - " he stopped, then took a deep breath. "Seems like I really can't pull this through in a roundabout way." he chuckled. "Viktor." he said and looked straight in my eyes. "I'll tell this all in one shot. Viktor. You have a mission, right? That's why you came to this land." he's not asking it. He's stating it. "And you said so yourself when we're still back at the Yellow zone. That's why..."

"'That's why'?" I asked when he didn't speak for a few minutes.

"That's why..." he said, and his hand touched my cheek. "Viktor." he said, and closed his face to mine. He tiptoed, and our lips touched. It's just a brief moment, but for me, it seemed a lifetime. "Viktor..." he uttered when our lips parted. His eyes are misty. I didn't say a single word. He smiled sweetly. "That's why. Viktor..." he said. A tear fell from his eyes. "I'm letting you go." he said. He finally said.

My eyes went wide with shock. It all just sank in to me. Why he said we'd go our separate ways. Why he told me what he felt that time. Why he cried. And why he kissed me. "Yuuri? Yuuri, wait." I said and grabbed his wrist. "Yuuri, you can't mean - " there's so many things I had wanted to say to him that time. But...

"Viktor..." he said my name in a very sad voice. The only words that I last heard from him were - "I know." I lost consciousness.
