Chris' POV
I knocked on the door. "Viktor?" I called.
"Here." He responded.
I opened the door. I saw him sitting on the veranda. "Viktor." I said. "You're here again?" he didn't answer. I sighed and sat on the chair beside him. I saw him looking down. "Japan... 'the first perfect country'." I said as I look at the country beneath our flying ship.
"Yeah. This must be what God would want us to make." He said. I looked at him. He's sipping his tea. "So even Him makes mistakes. His greatest mistake is creating a utopia. Because in the first place, there's no such a thing as utopia." He said.
I sighed and made my tea. "That's the part where I don't understand." I said.
"Utopia. A place where everything is perfect." He said. "That's the mistake. Utopia is no perfect place. perfect should be a balance between two opposing things. If there's no balance, then it's not perfect. Utopia is a place where you can only see the good things. Anything that's bad there are immediately corrected." He put his cup down. "That's why it's no perfect place." he said.
"Hmm." I said and took a sip. "Then what about 'there's no such a thing as utopia'?" I asked.
"It's because it's an imaginary place. Meaning, nonexistent. At least in the physical world."
"Huh?"
He took a sip of his tea. "Utopia only exists in our minds. An image of a place where our deepest desire of a perfect world exists. But that 'perfect' is a misconception. Because perfect, as I've explained earlier, is a balance of good and bad. The perfect that they understand is the utopia I defined. Only good and positive things. No bad or negative things. That's why it's a miconcepted 'perfect'." He explained.
"Oh. I get it now." I said and looked at Japan. The country's uniting now. How? It all happened on that day...
Flashback
"Viktor!" I called.
"Chris." He said and we hugged.
"So this is Japan?" we heard Yurio said. "Tch." He clicked his tongue.
"That cheeky brat." Vikor said and shook his head.
"Yurio!" Otabek called. "Have you took the pills?" he asked. he's referring to the pills that would give us a week of immunity to the stench. (A/N: you forgot what is the stench, right? :D)
"OF course. I'm not that stupid like that old man - " he said and walked past us.
"Cheeky brat." Viktor said and shook his head. "Come on. I'll show you to my place." he said and led the way.
"Here we are." Viktor said and opened the door. It's a big apartment enough for us four. "Not much, but - "
"This is great." I said and went inside. Otabek and Yurio followed. Viktor closed the door. "But, Viktor. Last time you called, as I remembered, you were having difficulty here." I said remembered he told me that he's stuck here or something.
"Oh, that." He said while preparing tea. "Someone helped me get past the bridge to the blue zone. There, I applied." He said.
"'Someone'?" we asked, but he didn't answer. Looks like he dosn't want to talk about that person. "Okay. On your report, there's three zones here in this country, right?" I asked. He nodded. "And where are we, now?"
"Yellow zone." He answered. "Follow me." he said and went to veranda. "Look." He said and pointed far away.
Our eyes went wide. "What the heck - "
