Chapter 9

   A few hours later, my phone goes off. Call from Dad flashes on the screen. "Guys, quiet for a second," I say. They stare at me, and I answer it. "Hello?" "Ronnie, it's time to come home," dad says. "Right! I forgot, sorry." I hang up and they look at me. "My dads having a special dinner tonight, so I have to go. Bye," I say. I walk downstairs and say bye to everyone else, then I walk home. I get home and see dad wearing a suit and tie... He never wears that. "Um... Dad?" "Huh, what? Oh, hi, sweetie. Tonight is very special so go throw on a dress or something nice." I walk into my room and close the door. I look through my closest at the dresses I have. Mom got me all these dresses before we left because she wanted me to be like other girls, except I'm not. I never wear dresses except for weddings... That's basically it. I don't want to disappoint my dad, so I throw on my dark blue dress and sandals, and head into the kitchen, where dad and Jonah are waiting. As soon as I sit down, the doorbell rings. "Ronnie, can you get that for me," dad asks. I groan because I just sat down, but go open the door anyways. I open the door and I'm shocked to see who is standing in front of me. "Hi, Ronnie," the lady says. I let her and her son in, and they sit down at the table.
   Wait, my dad is dating Reed's mom?! Things just got really interesting. "How long have you guys been dating," Jonah asks. "Um, about five months," dad answers. "Yes, five wonderful months," Ms. Deming says. I wonder why dad hadn't said anything to me about it. "Why didn't you tell me," Reed asks his mom. "Well, we wanted to keep it a secret. You know, to see how it'd last."  I think about what else dad's been hiding from me, but quickly stop. This is what made me not like him last time.

A/N - sorry I haven't added too much... I'm not writing it on watt pad I've been writing it in my notes so I can write during class.. Probably not the best idea but whatever 😂 anyways, what do you guys think about Ronnies dad dating Reed's mom? And Ronnie being Corbyn Bessons cousin? I wanted to add something extra to it...
