"Hey, I'm so sorry. I lost my phone, and I looked for it for five minutes, and realized it was in my other pocket," I say, when he answers. He laughs. "Hey, don't laugh at my stupidity," I joke. He quickly stops laughing, but his facial expression tells me he is about to loose it again, so we both start laughing. When we get ourselves together, I feel the need to tell him about my dad and Reed's mom. "Zach, I need to tell you something," I say, in a serious voice. "Uh oh, this isn't good. What happened? You're not breaking up with me... Are you?" "No, I wouldn't do that. It's just.... My dad is dating Reed's mom," I start. "Yeah, I know," he says, smiling. "What?! How?! Did he tell you or something?!" "No, I saw them a few weeks ago at the ice cream place on Reed's day off, and they were kissing," he laughs. "Oh... Wait, where was Reed then?" "He was tutoring some kid in math." "Oh. Speaking of math, I'm starting school tomorrow." "Really? Where?" "Um, I think dad said Rowlett High School?" "No way, I go there! Hopefully we have the same classes." "At least I'll know you, and yeah, we better have the same classes."
