Kasey was practically shaking with anxiety as she stood outside of the girl's apartment building. She nervously looked at the picture of the mystery girl and felt her face tint with red. It was almost 12:00 and as the silver car turned he corner and into the parking complex. After standing and anticipating he girl's arrival for at least 10 minutes Kasey saw her walk into view. The gray crop-top was an interesting choice for a chilly day but the way the girl walked clearly showed that she didn't care. She was smiling from ear to ear even though it seemed there was no reason to be so happy.
Kasey felt her heart begin to race as the girl came closer. In her head she repeated what she was going to say over and over. I never got to get your name. I never got to get your name. Kasey started to go panic and her hands began shaking. The girl was right in front of her. Kasey was about to talk so she opened her mouth, no words came out. She stood there with her mumbling in panic. The girl just kept walking. Kasey had almost lost all hope when she felt a tap on her shoulder.
"You're the camera girl from the park, right?" the girl asked. Kasey nodded nervously.
"Would you happen to want to go inside? It's a bit chilly outside," the girl motioned to Kasey's shaking hands.
"Heh, not a woman of many words huh? That's ok, I'll take you to my room," the girl grabbed Kasey's wrist and led her through the large front door to the apartment building. Her hands were soft but her grip was surprisingly strong. The lobby inside was small but smelled like warm apple pie. The girl smiled and waved at the lady at the far table who was drinking coffee and led Kasey to the elevator. She pressed the 8 button and repeatedly hit the button to close the door. Her hair was a warm cocoa and her eyes were so easy to get lost in and Kasey was silent in bewilderment the whole time. When the elevator door opened the girl skipped over to her room and fiddled in her pocket. She brought out a set of keys with a Harry Potter lanyard on it. As her door swung open a cute little room was placed out before them. The kitchen was small and there was no dining table, there was one large bed in the far corner of the room with a metal bed frame and a giant lump in it. The TV was flatscreen and hung on the wall across from a small couch.
"So this is my place, it's only one room and a bathroom so it's small. My name is Kathrine by the way, but you can call my Kat if you want," Kat said smiling at Kasey.
"I-I'm Kasey," Kasey said struggling to talk.
"Oh, you're stuttering! Here, you must be cold," she handed Kasey a fluffy blanket.
"Thanks, so, uh, you live right across from me," Kasey said awkwardly pointing to her room across the street.
"That's so cool! Do you have any roommates?" Kat asked.
"Oh no, my last roommate left after she got a new place closer to her work," Kasey explained. "Do you have any roommates?"
"Oh, yeah! Speaking of which, JOSH!!" she yelled as the lump in her bed rolled over to reveal a scruffy guy in an old t-shirt. Kasey's heart dropped to her stomach at what her crush said next.
"This is Josh, my roommate and boyfriend."
