{Icicles from the sky}
“I now declare the Queen of Arendelle, Elsa,” the loud voice boomed behind Elsa as she stood straight with trembling hands, everyone around her cheered in enthusiasm and all she could see was dread.
She quickly set the items for the coronation back on its plush velvet pillow and glanced back at the crowd with a small smile. Anna was by her side smiling just as nervously, and that only added fuel to her fear. Why couldn’t the day pass sooner?
Already had she forgotten of the boy that had raised her hope as a child and has just thought of them as a dream, but surely she craved for him to be real. Not a part of her imagination, or daydream in that isolated cold room.
Hours passed with ease she noted as the sky was consumed in a dark chilly shade, and the ball was just minutes away. She reapplied her lipstick and powdered her nose slightly, and fixed the tiara on her head before heading out to greet the guests and the festive mood.
The years had led her to become wiser and mature but only at the age of eighteen she felt inside her the silly young girl who wanted to join and be happy. Elsa shook her head and glanced at the grand ball in front of her.
Anna was dancing with the Duke of Weselton that had proposed to ask her, but she had declined and recommended her sister. She giggled at the sight of her sister dancing oddly next to the old man, their movements stiff and amusing.
“Excuse me?” She froze as a man touched her shoulder; his warm voice brought a shiver up her spine. Elsa was tempted to yell at the man and throw his hand off her, but she remembered where she was amidst a crowd of people with their attention on her.
“Um-Yes?” She swallowed nervously trying to put distance between them; her heart began to accelerate as she slipped his hand off her shoulder.
“May I have this dance Queen Elsa?” He asked and she felt her eyes widen at the man standing before her in a suit of black and with a mask covering his upper face, except for those charming coffee eyes that sparkled under the light and his luscious lips. The stranger offered his hand, it was large and he had such slender fingers for a man.
“I...can’t,” she refused with her head lowered yet he did not wagger or looked disappointed, almost as if he expected her reaction. She waited for him to disappear from her sight and stop her heart from racing before her power went wild, but to her surprise he took her hand in his without warning and led her to the center of the grand room.
“That’s too bad because I don’t accept a no,” his lips tugged up into a smirk as he set his arm on her waist and brought her other hand up to his shoulder, she blushed when his face lowered slightly so they were just mere inches away from touching. “You look lovely, if I do say so myself,” his warm breath fanned her lips and she could not look away.
“And you do not look so bad yourself, Sir,” she smiled despite herself and forgetting about the people around her and her power. It was as if at his touch she felt serene and enlighten, just when she was a child.
“Why thank you, means a lot coming from you, Princess,” he chuckled and for a second her eyes widened at the comment he made. Why did his rough deep voice sound familiar? And why was it that she felt as if she knew this tall alluring man?
“Who are you?” She whispered lowly her eyes narrowing at the handsome man in disguise, her curiosity wanted to know who this man she is dancing with is.
