{Knight in shining armor}
“Are you mad?!” She screamed in horror her eyes widening at his words. Color rose on her cheeks and Periwinkle tightened her fists at her sides. “I won’t let you get killed, Jack Frost. It is my duty to protect you!”
He frowned and shook his head, “Forgive me Periwinkle, but I won’t run away from danger.”
Without letting Periwinkle say anything else he sprinted toward Elsa, his heart thumping madly as a cold sweat formed on his brow. In an instant a wall of ice formed and he stopped turning to the right to avoid the collision.
“I almost forgot about you, Jack,” Pitch muttered as he grinned sadistically the staff by his side glowed and he summoned a cloud of darkness swirling around him to form dark horses. “No hard feelings but I can’t exactly have you running around disrupting my plans,” he motioned for his minions to attack.
Jack was determined more than ever to protect the two girls and put a stop to this evil nightmare. “I’m not going to give up!”
He narrowly missed a dark horse, their hooves echoing through the ice castle as they circled around him with deadly eyes. The stallions began to disperse into thick dark mist and then made tall figures their hands creating sharp objects. They grunted and charged toward him, Jack dodged his suit getting thin cuts here and there.
From the distance he saw Periwinkle leave her sapphire glow escaping through the doors. His heart throbbed and he wondered if she had left him to suffer here by himself. Just then a shadow had stabbed him on his left arm, Jack screamed in pain as blood flowed from the deep wound.
He brought his foot up to kick the shadow and he stumbled back when it disappeared. His trembling hand came up to touch the wound and he growled in anguish, “Curses.”
“You have grown weak Jack Frost, without your powers you are nothing more than a mere human. Worthless. Feeble…and nothing,” Pitch laughed as he watched from the sidelines. He was impressed with the immense powers coursing through him, it was fantastic and he wanted to shower the whole word in a mist of darkness and cold, forever.
“No, even without my powers I will defeat you,” Jack extended his arm and closed his eyes forcing all the power left inside of him to appear. From his palm grew out a sword, the tip edged with sharp ice and smooth details, he grabbed the handle and glared at the shadowed enemies around him.
“Come at me,” despite himself he smirked cockily and positioned himself to fight with his legs apart and sword in the air. It was light in his hand, but dangerous to fight with.
In a flash he was surrounded by Pitch’s underlings and he fought with all his might, his sword swinging here and there cutting in half the figures. He was breathless and felt his legs tremble as he kept on fighting; it felt like if every time he cut one figure more appeared.
At this pace he was sure to lose, and he couldn’t possibly save the Queen. Even though he knew this he fought and didn’t stop, no his body kept on fighting. His mind had jumbled thoughts, he could run but by himself he was sure to escape.
“No, I will leave with Elsa!” His sword clashed against one of the shadow’s weapons and the sound invaded his ears. Twisting his body to the left he swung the sword cutting through him and went toward Elsa who was unconscious.
He took her in his arms and ran to the exit, his breaths coming in puffs of white. Pitch sighed and pointed the staff at Jack’s back, releasing a shot of ice from it. But fortunately Jack had tripped and fallen, Elsa escaping from his arms and falling along the edge of the cliff.
Her hand dangled over the edge, and for a second the harsh wind blew her body over the dark steep hole. Jack stood up and grabbed her hand before her whole body fell, and he shivered at her cold skin. “Hang on Elsa, I got you,” he said through tightened teeth.
“I promise I won’t let go,” Jack raised his left injured arm and took a hold of her hand; he pulled and grimaced as the pain hit him. Elsa awoke slowly the wind blowing against her dress and hair; she barely caught Jack’s words.
Her hazy gaze stayed on the stranger helping her up, and she realized she was in danger and he was touching her. She felt panic rise and struggled to go up but the expression he had made her heart throb.
“Why are you helping me?” Elsa asked the man, she was puzzled by his concern.
Jack winced and smiled at her gently, “Do I need a reason to save someone?”
Her heart fluttered and her cheeks flushed at his words, his voice made her melt even in the situation they faced. “I’m sorry for not believing in you…Jack,” she looked down and closed her eyes.
“Its fine, Elsa…as long as you are fine my Queen this pain does not matter,” he said as he pulled once more. But then it happened Jack felt a sharp ice go right through him, an excruciating pain formed in his gut and he was afraid to look down at his abdominal.
Elsa shrieked at the sharp ice that had ripped right through Jack’s body, and the blood that gushed out. His face became pale and the grip on her hands lessened. She felt her body pull her down, right along with Jack.
