George isn't home very often now. He's always out at the store or at an unknown friend's house or wherever.

Matty doesn't think he particularly minds because George has a life that doesn't include Matty, which is fine, but sometimes it makes Matty want to cry on the sofa and drink lots of wine.

When George comes home, he's in a new shirt and there's something very powdery on his nose that he quickly wipes away when he sees his face in the hallway mirror. Then he turns to smile at Matty. "Didn't know you'd wait up, love, would've been quicker with my errands."

"Errands," Matty echoes. "Of course."

George's smile doesn't falter, but his eyebrows lower a bit. "Are you alright?"

"Alright? All right, all is right, yes. Yes I'm fine." Matty got up from the sofa and tells George goodnight without so much as a look, and then took himself off to bed.

He doesn't sleep for a very long time.

"You're a coward."

It's Gemma. She likes to turn to Matty at random moments in the day and insult him. It's good fun for all.

"Yes, I'm aware."

"Oh, are you sure? Because it seems to me like you're not."

Matty gives a sigh so long Gemma eventually laughs and hits him over the head with one of her posh sofa pillows. "Matty, be serious for once."

"I'm always serious."

Gemma raises an eyebrow, which gets Matty giggling. "Are you going to talk to George? You have to, alright, he's obviously in love with you and you're definitely in love with him."

Matty eyes Gemma's full glass of wine. "Do you think so?"

"Do I think what?"

"That he's in love with me?"

Gemma's smile gets softer. "Of course I do. The way he looks at you, as one would look at a slice of pizza."

Matty snorts. "Well, alright then."

"Yeah?" Gemma grins and nudges him. "You'll talk to him?"

Matty shrugs. "I suppose so."

Gemma looks entirely too smug, so Matty hijacks her glass and downs the rest of her wine, choking when she hits him in the stomach.

George smells like vanilla and he tastes like frosting and his hands are huge and warm on Matty's hips.

They've been lazily kissing for about an hour now with Nigella on in the background. She's looking quite lovely as she stirs a bowl of cake mix. Matty isn't quite that focused on her though.

"Where've you been the last few hours?" Matty asks when George starts kissing his neck.

"It's a secret." George bites down and Matty moans despite himself.

"You're such- ah- an arse."

George licks over the bruise he probably just left in a spot too high for a shirt collar. "That's not what you were saying last night."

"Last night I was lying on the floor with Allen."

"That way you talk to that dog might make a man jealous."

A little thrill goes up Matty's spine but he slaps George's shoulder anyway. "That's gross."

George grins at him and leans down to kiss him again.

Matty sighs into his mouth, tangling his fingers in George's messy hair. It's nice, being like this with George, with George over him, his legs around George's waist. It's proper domestic, Matty supposes.

George's hand grasps Matty's thigh, tugging him closer. Matty won't admit out loud that he has a thing for being manhandled, but he knows George has figured it out already anyways.

They kiss until Matty gets hungry and demands takeaway. George kisses him one last time and tells him that if he's going to be giving orders around here then he can order the takeaway himself.

Matty convinces George to order in so he can have his crisis on the sofa while George is in the kitchen looking at menus.

It really is very domestic, this whole thing, and Matty hates himself at how much he finds himself wanting it. He loves George, in every way he can, and he's a bit scary really. He knows George loves him too, but not in every way, which is also a bit scary. Matty has never had anyone love him so much.

This is enough, if Matty can't have it all. That scares him more than anything else.
