Chapter 3 (Devyn’s POV)

I woke up the next morning tired as heck. I look at the clock, 10:30. I grab my phone to see a text from Hayes.

From: Hayes<3

Good morning gorgeous. I’m picking you up at 12:)

Hayes xx

Awe. He’s so cute. I texted back:

To: Hayes<3

Morning handsome. I’ll be ready. After the movie are we going to go to that dance studio?

I walk to my bathroom and start my shower. A text from Hayes comes in:

Anything you want babe(;

I jump in the shower and get out really quickly. I change into my favorite pink jean shorts and a white floral tank top.  I plug in my blow dryer and flat iron and start to dry my hair. I straighten my unfortunately curly hair and after that and do my light make-up. After that I have time to spare so I run into the kitchen for a late breakfast. Taylor is sitting at the table on his phone.

“Morning Dev,” he said, still staring at his phone.

“Morning Tay,” I look in the cupboard to find nothing but candy. “Taylor, you need to get some actual food.”

“Calm down Dev, I’m going out today to get food.”

“Good,” did I tell you I’m not a morning person?

I trudge back to my room and find some hip-hop sweatpants, spandex, and a dance tank top and stuff them into my dance bag. I stuff my purse in there, too.

I heard Hayes walk into the apartment and rush out to meet him. He looked really good.

“Dev, you look great!”

“Thanks,” I blush and we head out.

“No funny business Hayes!” Taylor yells from behind us.

I laugh and we start walk toward the movie theater. We interlock our hands and he comes really close to me.

“What movie are we seeing?” I ask.

“They’re having a special showing of a bunch of Disney movies. I think it said Sleeping Beauty, Aladdin, Pocahontas, and Finding Nemo.”

“Disney? I love Disney!” I exclaim.

“I knew you would!” he chuckled.

We arrive at the theater and he buys our tickets. We sit at the way top of the theater because there are a whole bunch of little kids sitting in the front. The first movie is Sleeping Beauty. We sit through it really awkwardly. I’ve never really been on a real date before. After Sleeping Beauty there was a five minute break in between the movies. I stand up and stretch my arms.  Hayes jumps up and starts running around in the aisle. He tried to do a cartwheel but laded on top of the seats a row ahead.

“Dev, I need some help!” he screams. I can barely breathe because I’m laughing so hard.

The next movie, which happens to be Pocahontas, started playing so I helped him up and we sat down. Throughout the whole movie we were taking selfies and laughing until we could barely breathe.
