*two months later*

It's been a couple of months since Evan's, um, let's just call it a 'fall'. And since then, Evan constantly feels Vanoss watching him, but the two only talk when he's alone.

Because of this, Evan has taken a liking to hanging out with his friends more. Which is actually pretty helpful for helping him remember, even if it's just the little things.

Like the ice cream shop they always love to go to, the one that's only three blocks away from home. Or the bar they went to for Tyler's 23rd birthday, The Drunken Duckling. Those kinds of memories always made him smile.

His friends noticed this change in his behavior, but they said nothing because they just thought it was all part of the healing process. The more they hung out, the quicker Evan could remember.

Unfortunately, the guys had to go on a mission that was a couple cities away, so Evan couldn't come with them. Which meant he was going to be completely alone for the next week, Evan was not looking forward to it.

"Do you have to go?" Evan whined as the guys packed up their duffel bags in the kitchen.

"Evan, you know we have to. This is a very important mission." Lui said, walking back to his room to retrieve something.

Evan sighed, leaning up against the wall. "But what if something happens and I need you guys?" Pointless question, yes, but it did stop a few of them in their tracks.

"Evan, nothing has happened in the past few months, you've remembered a fair bit as well. I'm certain that you'll be fine." Brock said, shoving a roll of bandages into a side pocket of his bag.

"Fine, it was worth a shot." Evan grumbled, turning around and heading back into his room, leaving his friends to continue their packing.

He closed the door, deciding to not lock it and laid down on his bed, closing his eyes as he thought. Granted, he didn't have much to think about, but he hoped that maybe he could fall asleep.

"Hey there....." Evan internally groaned as soon as he heard Vanoss, who was right next to the window as Evan opened his eyes. His lips were curled into a smirk and his arms were crossed over his chest. "So I heard that we get an entire week to ourselves, sounds like fun."

"You're not real." Evan ignored everything Vanoss was saying, he was not in the mood to deal with him. He needed to remember that Vanoss would only bother him for as long as he let him.

"I am very much real, sunshine. I am all of your real, living thoughts, you made me."

"No, I didn't. Shut up."

"You made me to hide your fear of not living up to everyone's expectations. Your fear of not being able to be who you once were, and you won't. You never will be."

"Shut. Up."

"You can't get rid of me, I'm here to stay. And for the next week, I'm going to bug you as much as I want. So deal with it." And with that, he was gone, allowing Evan to once again relax.

He closed his eyes, enjoying the moment instead of dreading when the guys would be gone. Evan didn't even know where they were going, guess they wanted to keep him out of the loop for as long as possible.......

----------

Evan woke up, not even realizing he had fallen asleep, moonlight flooded in from the window, creating a soft glow on the entirety of the room. He blinked a couple times, his eyes adjusting to the dim lighting.

The house was quiet, the only thing Evan could hear was the traffic on the streets that were several stories below him, and even then it was just the soft hum of the wheels speeding on the pavement.

Using his right hand, he blindly reached for the light switch on his lamp. He felt the wooden surface of the bedside table, reaching forward just a little bit more to turn on the lamp.

The room lit up, the artificial light allowing Evan to see better. The curtains were partially open, allowing the moonlight entrance. And the door was slightly ajar, and Evan could see a small slip of paper on top of the desk next to the door.

He rubbed the sleep from his eyes and stood up, pushing himself off the bed immediately since he hadn't been underneath the covers. His feet made a quiet thud as they hit the carpeted floor.

Making his way to the desk, he utilized the lamp's light to make sure he didn't trip. Not that he could since there was nothing lying around on the floor.

He reached the desk, picking the crisp sheet of paper that was there. It read in bold lettering;

We left for our trip, didn't want to wake you up. See you in a week, Ev.

-Jonathan

He frowned at the words, disappointed that he didn't get a chance to properly say goodbye to his friends. But it made him feel better that Jonathan had cared enough to leave a note informing him of their absence, otherwise he might have thought it was the apocalypse or something.

Although it might as well have been, Evan had no idea what to do. He usually just followed his friends' lead, he never really had that much freedom in the apartment, he didn't know where to start.

He made his way to the living room, which, since he was now thinking about it, was actually a very common thing he had been doing. Although it was at the front of the house, he seemed to think of it as the central point of the apartment, since it was joint with the kitchen, the only thing that could indicate they were separate rooms was the glass railing, and three small steps leading into the living room.

He stopped in the middle of the kitchen/living room area, looking around. Items were laying everywhere, empty ammo boxes, and spare batteries amongst a multitude of others, it was a mess.

Evan was about to retreat back to his room, hoping to get some more sleep since it was now dark, when he had the sudden urge to clean up the room. Like if he left it like this any longer he was going to explode.

Sighing, he turned back around surveyed the room once more, pondering on where to start.

At least he had something to do now.
