Define Oblivious

Chapter 2

Junior Year
Josh burst through the Matthew's door saying "Hey kiddies I'm back!"
Riley, Cory, and Topanga gave him hugs but Maya just stayed on the couch not even taking notice.
She was laying her head on Lucas's lap while he played with her hair and she was very drowsy.
He was kind of shocked to not have Maya calling him uncle boing and hitting on him, but she looked very happy laying on Lucas. Lucas looked happy as well.
"Hey Huckleberry?" Maya said catching more of Lucas's attention.
"Yeah pancake?" Lucas responded.
"Can you massage my forehead? Maya asked.
"Yeah. Turn your face towards me though." Lucas requested.
Maya and Lucas gave each other a warm smile then he started massaging her temples and all over her forehead. Maya purred in delight.
Josh pulled Riley into the bay window.
They sat there in an extremely awkward silence.
"Why haven't you yelled at me for sitting in your and Maya's sacred spot?" Josh asked shocked.
"Because its not our sacred place anymore." Riley responded gloomy.
"Why?" Josh simply asked.
Flashback:
Sophmore Year
Maya was sitting huddled down in her run down bedroom sobbing. Her mom had a one night stand with someone who was not so friendly. He had beat Maya up until she was bruised all over and bleeding.
Maya debated whether or not to call Riley. The only way Riley could possibly help her is mentally and attempt to fix the situation. Then she thought about Farkle. He couldn't really help her either. Then there was Lucas. He could help her physically and mentally. She quit stalling and just called Lucas. He answered.
Phone Convo:
Maya(sobbing):Can you help me?
Lucas:Maya, what's wrong?
Maya:My mom had a hookup last night and he beat me up about 30 minutes ago he just left.
Lucas:Maya, I 'll be over in 10. I'm gonna take you to the hospital.
He hung up.
He got there and he was almost in tears due to seeing her in such a fragile state.
"Maya, please get up so I can take you to the hospital." Lucas requested.
Maya did as Lucas asked but she gave him a tight hug. He hugged back but he shrieked in pain due to him touching a sore spot.
"I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry!" Lucas exclaimed feeling really guilty.
"Don't worry about it Lucas, its not your fault."
Long story short, when they went to the hospital and that, for some strange reason, created a strong bond.
Flashback over.
"So they are a lot closer than you and Maya right now?" Josh said finally understanding.
"You betcha." Riley responded
