We were sitting on the porch of his mom's house, Tom and I. He looked at me, before saying something I hadn't heard come out of his mouth before.

"I love you." My heart skipped a beat and my mind kept repeating those words over and over in my head like a melody. He loves me. It took me a while to notice he was waiting for me to say something and so I said the words that have been playing at the tip of my tongue for a month now.

"I love you too." I've been in love before, and this was no different. I got that erratic pumping of my heart and a light headed heart whenever I was around him, which was all the time. I mean, it wasn't like the movies, the fireworks and electricity, and let's face it, there never is, but it was pretty damn close and I was definitely more than content having him by my side.

I realised then that I was in more peace than I've ever  been,  and I owed it all to Tom.
