~Ashton's pov~
::two weeks later::
I woke up tired and not entirely in the mood.
Every night ever since the "incident" I've had that same dream about that field. I don't get any closer to the shadowed man, and he doesn't speak. It's like there's something keeping us apart and he's making sure I don't hurt myself trying to go against it. I know for a fact he knows what's going on more than I do, but I have no way of even getting the information out of him.
Whatever, I don't have time to lay in bed getting frustrated over a dream. As I got up and went to the shower, I pressed the play button on my stereo. Leaving the door open, I washed myself to the tunes of pop music. My thoughts ran back to that day back at Nanooks'. Davie had snapped me out of it as Matt shook me. They said I'd been in the store for at least a few hours as they waited outside. Nanook didn't notice because it was normal for her customers to spend a few hours in her store. What with no labels anywhere, it's hard to discern what spice is which.
He was straight. Why did it have to be me? Sun, why couldn't he have been gay or at least bisexual? Ever since that kiss, I couldn't help but think about his lips pressed against mine. The way the electricity between us ran through my body as his tongue glided along the seam of my lips was incredible. Even thinking about it now was making me.....
No. Stop thinking about it.
Finishing my shower, I lazily dragged a towel over my body as I walked to my closet to pick my outfit for the day. By the time I was finished, I had on black skinny jeans with neon, faded, ocean blue, skull print on one leg; a neon blue long sleeve shirt; black shoes; and a black hoodie. I grabbed my wallet with Buttercup, the powerpuff girl, printed in the corner. Hey, what I do in my spare time is my business. Don't judge me.
I grabbed my book bag with my books and cellphone and walked out the door. When I got downstairs I wrote a note for my mother to pick up some Oreo's from the store, then walked out the house. The boys were waiting for me like usual in Davies car and I hopped in. "Morning guys", I mumbled out. If you haven't noticed, I'm not a morning person. "Morning Asher, feeling better today?"Davie asked as he pulled out of the driveway. I sighed as Matt looked at me from the side mirror. They knew I wasn't getting much sleep, and when I didn't get enough sleep I was cranky.
"Yeah, much better thanks." I was only semi lying. I did feel better today, but I still didn't get enough sleep last night. The fact that it was the second day of the school week didn't help that problem, but soon enough it'll be Friday. Davie nodded to Matt and drove the familiar route through town to our school. School itself always has me happy, but the technical work is a bummer. After a few minutes, we arrived at Sultana high. We parked at our usual spot at the middle of the lot and walked in.
I smiled and waved at the the people who passed by us. Yeah we were kind of popular. Stopping by my locker for a second. I unloaded my book bag and placed it on the hook, grabbing my English book and notebook with a pen and headed to first bell with the guys. We entered Mr. Dawson's English class and headed to our perspective seats at the back. My seat was by the window; Davie was in front of me; and Matt was beside Davie. The bell for class to start rang and Mr. Dawson started his class.
Of course he'd put up a morning assignment that we're suppose to do at the beginning of class so everyone busied themselves with it. I'd always done my assignment the previous day so I wouldn't do it so early in the day. Leaning my head against the window pane, I settled myself in my seat and closed my eyes. The coolness of the glass eased what tension I had left over from last nights dream. I was just about to doze off when I heard the class door open and close. It was probably an office worker telling the teacher something.
