Kuro's Pov~

Changing yourself for the better is hard.

For one

if someone you like-

or even love

likes you just the way you are

it can cause an impending conflict

The funny thing is,

even though that may be,

they would still love you

for all your flaws-

your imperfections,

And you them.

The aligning vertebrae in my neck made a chorus of subtle cracks as I rolled my neck to the side in stretching. It was late, and i'd been working since the last bell fired off in school, telling all residing students it was time to go.

Bonfire was a pretty nice cafe as far as these types of places go. So far i'd seen types of people who preferred to sit in the corner with a nice book and some tea, kick back with a coffee by one of the windows and casually talk to their friends, or even just sit in front of the fire place with one of our temptingly good confectioneries. All around, the crowd in the evenings was nice and had a good vibe coming from them. Like they were content with life, and preferred to enjoy the small nothings that they can experience every now and then. As for the night crowd, we put up the tea's and coffee and brought out the alcohol.

The nightlife was preening in their aura of excitement and edge. Women came in sultry outfits, showing not too much skin but always just enough to tempt the buzzed eyes of the men that came in their guys night out. Music was pumped through the stereo systems for dancing, and a certain amber eyed boy came in with his friends in tow. I could feel the now familiar tugging of my lips into a small smile at the sight of him after such a long day.

Like an angel swooping in without notice of you being near.

I witnessed the moment he caught sight of me, eyes brightening to a warm honey color, and began to make his way towards me in that earnest way he does when suddenly-

A snake slithered in his path.

An unconscious narrowing of my eyes marred my face as a boy with easy smile approached my little one and his friends. Unfortunately, it didn't look like this was a first time meeting, nor was there any apparent bad blood between them. If anything, flirtation and attraction was there.

"Jeremy! How'd you end up here?" his soft lilting voice wafted through the air in it's natural melody.

Jeremy smirked at the question, and merely shrugged, "Oh, I was just around. You know, off day in all and I figured I could kick back with a few dance moves tonight and then head home."

The grip my fingers held onto the glass I was drying tightened slightly as Ash graced him with a laugh.

"Dancing? You're just full of surprises, I didn't even know you could dance." he chirped. Grumbling in distaste, I watched as Matthew and David slid seamlessly into the dancing masses and somehow attach themselves to some unsuspecting girls.

Idiots, why did you leave them alone together?

Before I could temporarily go over there to crash the party, Jeremy put a sly hand around Ash's slim waist, and proceeded to walk backwards while pulling him unsuspectingly towards his own chest.
