Chapter Ten

Ash's Pov~

        Of all the times for my father to be protective of me, now was a horrible time. He didn't give Kuro the time of day, and all my mother and nana can do is laugh!

        If you want something done right, you've got to do it yourself.

        "Dad, you didn't even give him a chance. Yes I may have sprung it on you in a way, but if you just give me a cha-"

        "I said no. He's a hormone filled boy and you never told me you were interested in someone. Is he the reason why you've been a acting strange lately?" he huffed. My behavior lately was different then usual. However, I didn't think he'd notice to this extent. My father does work long hours at the hospital since his chosen profession was to be surgeon.

"Well I didn't think it'd matter that much since every other teenager in the world gets to date whoever they want without asking for daddy's permission." I scowled at the words that hissed past my lips.

        The look on his face betrayed the hesitation he felt from my words, but he quickly solidified it into a hard frown. With a huff, he turned towards the tall man beside me. "Excuse me ah......"

        "Kuro sir."

        "Kuro, you may very well be a nice young man, but at the end of the day, I don't know you well enough. For my son to have been acting strange for weeks, I expected him to be having a hard time at school again, not this." My dad explained.

        With that, he dropped his things beside the couch and sat next my mom, giving her a kiss and saying hello to Nana while motioning for Kuro and I to sit. I'd made sure to sit right beside Kuro as I looked toward my father. 

        I felt something nudge my pinkie, and glanced down to see that Kuro was hooking mine with his. My heart warmed at the small gesture, and I could feel the slight rise in blood in my cheeks as I calmed down. The things this boy does to me. If only he knew.

        "Sir, I admit that i'm not a saint. Hell, up until recently I wasn't even a normal citizen. I admit that, but I have changed. Ash....", he glanced toward me and for a second the presence in his eyes made my heart skip. "Ash is someone special. He touches everyone's hearts, even mine. We have a bond that, although it's still new to both of us, I know if I were to lose him I'd never make it. That's not possible for me anymore. Sir, if you were to give me the same chance that Ash has given me, I can show you the... parts of me that aren't so bad."

        He stared forward toward my father with determination in his silver pools with an intensity that was only match by his own actions. They held their gazes until my father withdrew with a sigh and pinched the bridge of his nose. Something he only did on those rare occasions that he was in the wrong. Hmph.

        "Fine, I guess you do deserve a chance just like everyone else." He mumbled.

        "Yes! Thank you papa!" I kept from my seat to jump on my papa. He yelped with the sudden squirming weight of me with a near deathly chock hold of my arms around his neck.

        "Asher! Son.... I can't breath! Jeez you've gotten so big. Asher!" He breathed as he tried to escape me.

        "You will love him, I just know it." I giggled as I loosened up my arms and kissed his cheek. He grumbled something like "yeah"or "sure" before I got up to take my handsome gentleman's hand. "Alright, I've done my good boy part and introduced you, now we I get to go relax." I said as I began pulling Kuro to the stairs.
