Kuro's POV~

I hugged Ashton to my chest, my nose buried in his soft golden hair as I breathed in his scent. We were at my house now, in my room just sitting in the window. His friends had been called home on errands and now it was just me and him.

My body shivered at his light touch as he drew unknown patterns on my chest with his finger. I'd almost lost him earlier today, and I still felt the ache in my heart whenever I thought about it. I gently pushed back a lock of hair from his face and pressed a soft kiss to his forehead. I'm pretty sure he liked it seeing as he nuzzled his cheek further into my chest. Our legs were intertwined as I leaned against the wall of the window seat, causing him to lay against me. The soft honey of his eyes looked up at me and I have him a faint smile. "You're awfully affectionate. Who knew the big bad wolf would be a marshmallow inside." A coy smile played on his lips as he spoke.

Such a playful one, I have to admire his charisma. "Only with you little one. No other can have such control over my heart as you do." I took his chin into my hand and lifted it up so that I can look into his eyes. "But if I lose you, then I have no heart. I found you almost a month ago, and I would like to keep you for much longer." A rush of red appeared under his beautifully colored cheeks and he pressed his lips to the edge of my jaw. "I'm sorry, I just couldn't help myself. She was so young and, I didn't want her parents going through their lives wondering what would their daughter would be like if she were alive. No parent should have to bury their own child."

He spoke with a wisdom that hinted at an elder figure in his life. Whoever they were, had taught him well. "I know Ash, I just don't want to be the one beside your parents at your funeral. That alone would send me to my own grave." He nodded and began to play with my necklace. "Kuro, why do you wear this?" He looked up with curiosity painted across his soft features. I'm sure he takes after his mother more than his father.

"That is a long story little one, but I guess we have the time." I turned my head to look at the rising crescent Moon. My hand found itself stroking his hair. "When I was born, I was a sickly child. The doctors of my family couldn't make anything of it. It got to the point where they saw that there was nothing they could do. After hearing their apologies, my mothers heart was starting break. Her only child was predicted to be too sick to make it through the night of his own birth. My grandfather took me, and as a last effort he prayed to the Moon goddess for her to save me. He knew that my sickness was not natural, and could sense the darkness that attacked my body."

My hand had paused in it's repetitive action and I continued. "A silver pillar of light embraced my body and when it disappeared, I was healthy. My once brown hair was now the palest of blonde and my eyes were the same shade as the pillar adding with this necklace appearing around my neck. She had answered my grandfathers prayers and have me a chance at life. I'm not an angel, but I know where my gratitude and loyalties lye." At this point, Ash had sat straight up with a look of awe on his face. "Kuro, you just described the day of my birth, how can that be?" My brows furrowed at the thought of my Ash going through such a struggle for life.

"Ashton, if that is true, then something is not right. It is no coincidence that we both were attacked by such darkness to near death, and both of our celestial deities saved us, only to show it by our hair and eyes, then leave us with a necklace representing them.", He looked down at my hand that still held his slender waist. "Not to mention this thing between us. It's not normal and most certainly not to be resisted." I nodded, trying to think through the possibilities and searching throughout the history I was taught in my home. Wait, I am on his land where his people reside. If he had the same birth as I then, their elder must be here as well.
