Jessie's POV"So this bitch has the nerve to tell me my outfit looks bad. Like hoe, you look like a sewer rat. At least I actually have style," Eve continues to rant to me about a girl who told her, her outfit looks bad. I'm kind of zoned out though. It's lunch time right now and I can't focus because I'm hungry. I usually wait for everybody else to get their lunch before I get mine.
"Are you even listening?" She snaps me out of my thoughts.
I look at her and she has a mad look on her face. "I'm sorry, I'm just really hungry. I'll be right back."
She nods as I get up to get in a shorter line.
The food at my school is actually really good so I eat here sometimes instead of bringing my lunch. The lunch lady puts a burger and fries on my tray. I smile gratefully at her and she returns it.
I turn around smiling to myself. She's nice. Some lunch ladies are actually mean. I don't know why. Maybe they hate their job. I don't blame them, I would too.
I get snapped out of my thoughts again by bumping into a hard chest. Luckily, my food didn't fall. I look up to see Xavier. "I'm so sorry." I say laughing nervously.
"Watch where you're going next time." He says rudely. What the hell?
"God, did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed this morning?" I mutter to myself but he heard it.
"Don't be such a bitch." He says glaring at me.
What the hell is wrong with him?
"Excuse me? I'm not being a bitch. You're just being a douche."
He looks at me and I can tell that he's angry. "Get the f*ck out of my way."
"Not even a sorry? Wow you're a gentleman." I say sarcastically.
He grabs my arm and pulls me out of the cafeteria. "Hey! What the f*ck? Let me go." I say trying to rip my arm from his grip but it just tightens.
He pushes me into a room where nobody is in and my food almost falls AGAIN. But I catch it. He grabs my food and puts it on the table.
"What are you doing? What's wrong with you!" I yell.
"Shut up." He growls as he walks towards me. I take a step back but my back hits the wall. I'm actually very scared right now and I regret talking to him like that.
He gets so close to me as he traps me with his hands on the wall next to my head. He gets closer to me and his head goes down to my ear. His warm breath tickled my ear as he whispered. "Don't ever talk to me like that again unless you have a death wish. Got it?"
I stand there frozen as he stands over me. Im afraid to say anything. He looks at me but I avoid looking at him. "Look at me." He demands.
I shake my head. He grips my chin making me look at him. I look at him with tears in my eyes. "I asked you a question."
"I got it." I say with my shaky voice.
He backs up from me. "Good."
I let out a breath that I didn't know I was holding in. I walked forward and grabbed my food. I look at him. I want to ask him why he was being to nice to me yesterday but so rude today. So I did.
"W- why were you being so nice yesterday but right now you're not. W- what happened?" I say unsurely.
He takes a deep breath. "I just couldn't stand there and do nothing."
"Actually you could. But you didn't."
He looks at me in my eyes and I stare back. I see something in his eyes but I'm not sure what it is.
