~ Chapter  2 : Shenanigans

~~This ones a bit longer than the first so I hope you enjoy. Thumbs up for being on time :)

A familiar text tone went off and I knew it must be Clare. Which reminded me, when had Chris taken back his phone? I shrugged, letting the thought pass. I began to walk away from the spot that moments ago witnessed something great. I pushed open the door, fumbling around for my phone in the process.

Clare ~ I'm running a little later than expected, might be another hour or so, sorry xx

I hopped into the front seat and shoved the keys into the ignition.

Me~ Don't worry about it, I have a few things I want to do anyway, now i'll have time to do them. :)

With a swift turn of the keys, I started the car, the various key chains I had chimed as I did so. A few taps on the dash board and my vehicle was filled with the sweet indie vibes I had programmed into the radio. Involuntarily my head shook about and my fingers tapped along to the beat. I smiled and belted out the lyrics.

"I know, she knows that i'm not fond of asking

True or false, it may be... Well, she's still out to get me.

And I know, she knows that i'm not fond of asking

True or false, it may be... She's still out to get me!"

My little jam session continued at the stop light. I could see the passengers in the cars beside me staring but I didn't care. That is until I saw him. Chris, right next to me. I kept singing though, and now that I knew that he was looking I kept doing silly things. Like shaking my hair everywhere. He grinned brightly and laughed, his head rolling back as he did so. He shook his head.

The windows rolled down ages ago now let me here him shout, "Your so naive!" I sway my head back and forth, laughing at his remark. The light turns green the second I look away, and I'm off, speeding down a highway. On my way to the Arnold Arboretum.

The wind's powerful gusts through my open window sending my hair to a whipping fury, lashing at an invisible force.  Turning into the parking lot, I smiled. The park was bursting with wildlife. The perfect spot to take some nature shots.I spot a blossoming tree in the distance and decide to make that my first stop.

A hop skip and jump and I'm underneath the tree, pointing my lens up to the branches. Light filtered through the tree's limbs and seeped through the green foliage. I smiled widely, snapping a picture at just the right angle so that the sun caught particles in the air, reveling their presence. It was like in beauty in the beast when the glittery light shone on the rose-only different.

I smiled giddily, spotting a sparrow perched in a branch a few trees over. I knelt down beside the trunk, slumping my back against it. My index finger positioned on the shutter release, waiting for the command from my brain which was waiting for the signal from my eyes. Just waiting, patiently, for the perfect shot.

Hold on just a few more seconds. Common little birdy look that way please.

Finally the bird was in the perfect spot in my view finder, but before my brain could send the signal a voice boomed behind me, scaring the sparrow away. My eyes turned to slits, I was well aware of who and what the voice belonged to and as much as I liked him I wasn't going to let him get away with ruining my shot. Nobody ruins my shots.
