It's the last day of summer. The sun shines even brighter than the other days of summer. . . .well, except for the first day of summer. Besides that fact, along with the brighter sun are the chirping birds, singing a special tune that would make any day like this memorable.
"Mom? Where are the donuts?" Aiko asked.
"Oh. . . they were your donuts?" replied Aiko's mom
"Mom!" Aiko complained.
"Sorry honey. They just looked so good and. . . oh shut up alright! It's donuts and I love sweets just as much as you!"
"And you say I act like a child."
Instead of donuts, Aiko grabbed a banana along with a melon soda.
"If I see a banana peel around here like I did yesterday, I make sure you're the one that slips on it and not me." Aiko's mom informed.
"How would you be able to do that if you see the peel? You would be too much of a clean freak in order to just leave it there." Aiko replied.
Aiko's mom sighs madly. "Just toss me a damn soda."
"Melon or strawberry?" asked Aiko as she reopened the fridge.
"Take a guess." Aiko's mom replied coldly.
Aiko tossed her the strawberry soda. As she sat on the couch, they opened their sodas.
"So, excited for your first day of high school?" asked the mother"Who would be." Aiko replied sarcastically. "It's high school."
"New friends, new start, new teachers, new place." Aiko's mother added.
"New bullies." Aiko replied sarcastically.
"Dear, I know it'll be hard for you for. . . many. . . reasons, but you got to keep your head up and try not to murder anyone because I don't want to be on the news this year."
"I'm not going to kill anyone mom. I'm not like my sister."
"Speaking of your sister, I have some good news!"
"My sister finally didn't give a boy a black eye and a broken arm?" Aiko asked sarcastically.
"No. . . " the mother replied slowly. "Anyway, the good news is, your sister will be returning from China to go to school with you."
Immediately, Aiko started coughing rapidly after spitting out her soda, in response to the news. The mother watched Aiko and looked completely confused as she kept coughing, slamming her soda upon the table.
"Are you going to die over there because if so, in order to help you, I could do CPR but it would look awkward." said the confused mother.
"M-my- my sister is coming here?!" asked a reviving Aiko.
"At least that is what she said. I even had her sent me a picture of her passport to prove it." the mother replied.
"Did you threaten to kill her if she lied?" asked an oblivious Aiko.
"No. . . . . .maybe. . . . " replied the mother reluctantly.
"Why and when is she coming?" Aiko asked.
"She told me she would be later." the mother replied.
"And what if she doesn't come later and she either comes now or tomorrow?" Aiko asked.
"If that is the case. . . ." Aiko's mother began. ". . . Let's just see what happens shall we? After all, I have a special plan to make sure that she isn't too early or too late."
