Chapter Twelve

The short week did turn out to be short as the days quickly passed. Just as they said, Fumiko and Amaya visited everyday, bringing Hokuto along every time. They would also bring food most of the time either from a restaurant or something that Hokuto made. Everyday however, they brought playing cards with them and as they ate, they played. 

All the medical stuff though wasn't that much of a different story. Everyday, Aiko would be given a questionnaire to fill out whilst learning about the dangers of sleeping pills for minors. She was one day given a blood test however as the nurse wanted to make sure the blood didn't enter her system as much. After the test, the results came out negative as nothing was occurring differently with the pills.

Today was the day Aiko would be going home. Everything was exciting, except the fact that she would have to go back to school the day after, facing Ayano and her crew after the incident.
In her mind, Aiko prayed as she hope no teacher has opened their mouths towards any student about the incident as she didn't want anything else to happen to her. 

Her concerns were interrupted when a red range rover pulled up to the front of the hospital. The nurse stood behind Aiko with a smile, signaling her to go with her mother, who got out of the car to greet Aiko, swooping her into a relaxing hug.

"I've missed you so much!" Fumiko said with a smile. 

"I missed you more." Aiko replied.

"How was she this whole week?" Fumiko asked the nurse. 

"She was very calm about the whole thing. She did however end up feeling homesick pretty often but the visits seemed to help as she was relaxed after the visits. Besides that, she was such a joy to have in the hospital and I hope to see her around town sometime." the nurse replied with joy.

"Now you sound like those teachers who put "This student is a joy to have in class." on a report card" Amaya said. 

"Roll your window back up!" Fumiko yelled.

With little mumbling, Amaya rolled her window up and turned away. Fumiko and the nurse began chatting, boring Aiko as she decided to glance around at the outdoors. Nothing has changed while being inside for a whole week. The sun will still as bright as the blue sky. 

"Are you ready to go?" Fumiko asked Aiko.

Aiko nodded once with an enthusiastic smile. She followed her mother to the car as her mother directed her to sit in the back seat with her sister. Confused, Aiko went in the car and sat next to her sister in the back. In response, Amaya greeted Aiko with a goofy wave, only a wave that a 5 year old could pull off. Awkwardly, Aiko greeted Amaya back with a normal wave. 

"Why am I in the back seat instead of the front? This only happens when we are being driven to school." Aiko asked.

"I wish I could answer your question but I just don't feel like it since-" Amaya began. 

"I'm in the front." Hokuto said, popping his head out from the front.

"You jerk!" Aiko yelled, hitting Hokuto like a toddler. "You startled me! I hate you!" 

"I see surprises aren't your thing Ms. Fujimoto." Hokuto replied, taking the hits calmly as he stayed still.

"Surprises are weird!~" Aiko whined. "They make things too mysterious! Don't startle me again you jerk!" 

Hokuto kept his normal expression as he took the hits from Aiko.

"Will you stop abusing the poor boy?" Fumiko asked, getting into the car. "He wanted to come with us just to see you exit the hospital happily."
