After their excursion to Shell Cottage, the two had returned to Tonks' mother's house. It was decided that Scarlet was to stay thereto recover and rest. The other motive was for her to spend sometime with her godson. The young Teddy was an interesting boy, his changing appearance didn't phase the girl that much. What was so interesting, is though he could not speak, he had developed a way to communicate his needs.

The young Teddy Lupin, would, when he wanted a specific person, change his hair colour to match theirs. Most of the time, his tuft of hair was the shade of black matching Scarlet's. Although it would change when he needed feeding or a diaper change. But for the most time, it was Scarlet he wanted to play with. More than a few times, she had transformed- without Remus's knowledge of course, into her world form and gave Teddy a ride around the living room on her back. Despite it hurting a lot, and weakening her greatly.

"Come on, Scarlet. Scar- Let." she smiled slowly at the boy, trying to teach him her name.

"Slar-" the boy opened his mouth widely.

"Noooo, Scar- Let." she tried again.

"Scar?" Teddy began.

"Yes, yes, come on. Scar- Let." she smiled.

"Scaket!" Teddy smiled excitedly, waving his hands in the air. "Scaket! Scaket! Scaket!"

"No," she laughed, holding his pudgy fists in her own, to calm him down. "Scar- Let."

"Scaket!" he stuck out his tongue.

"No, one more time. Try again, Scar- Let." she smiled, emphasising the letter 'L' in her name.

"Scar-"

"Yes!"

"Let-"

"Yes, now put it together." she said excitedly.

"Slaket!" Teddy smiled brightly and Scarlet laughed with frustration.

"This is not how you treat your godmother." she laughed, still uncomfortable with her new title.

"Bo- geppot. Scaket!" Teddy huffed, before laughing wildly, chanting his interpretation of her name. "Scaket! Scaket! Scaket!"

His chanting was so loud it brought about the attention of his parents. Remus was first in the room, his face just tainted with worry. "What's wrong?" he asked, jumping to conclusions.

"I think Teddy's learnt his first word." Scarlet puffed out her chest proudly.

"Ooh! What is it?" Tonks picked up her son excitedly, his hair having changed to pink, "say Mumma."

The boy closed his eyes and crinkled up his nose. His hair suddenly changed to black and he opened his mouth proudly. "Scaket!" he laughed, and his mother laughed too.

"I think you've spent enough time with your godmother." Tonks laughed, as Teddy continued to chant 'Scaket' through his giggles.

"Yes, your mother's quite right," Remus began, looking at his son with joy. "Besides, we should get moving." he looked gravely to Scarlet.

"Why? What's wrong?" Scarlet looked up worried.

"It's Harry, he's at Hogwarts. It's time to fight." He said matter-of-factly, his hand squeezing his wife's shoulder.

"Okay, let's go!" Tonks said standing up, Teddy in her arms.

"Absolutely not!" Remus stated firmly. "You should stay here with our son. He'll need you. I may not come back."

Tonks made to argue having even put Teddy on a chair. Scarlet sat in between her parents, shocked to see them arguing in front of not just her but their son too.

"No, that's enough." Scarlet piped up, pushing the adults apart. "Tonks you stay here with Teddy. Remus and I will go to Hogwarts." she did her best to persuade the woman.

"But-" Tonks started.

"Scarlet is right. We have to go." Remus cut her off.

He walked forward and hugged his wife tightly, kissing her firmly on the lips. Before forcing her to take a seat, grabbing Scarlett's hand and pulling her out the door.

"Scaket!" Teddy cried, his hair changing from pink to black, eventually deciding on both.

Scarlet quickly reappeared in the living room doorway. She smiled at Teddy, who stopped crying at the sight of Scarlet. She then turned her attention to Tonks, who had a frown on her face but it couldn't disguise the worry in her eyes.

"Don't worry, I'll bring him home." she tried to reassure the woman before following Remus out of the house.

The two walked in silence, not out of awkwardness but because they were filled with tension, worry and the strange feeling that this might be their last night alive. They might not see their loved ones again, they might not see sunrise again, they might not ever feel again. It was an odd sensation and certainly deserved their bout of silence. They had apparated directly into the Hogs Head, much to the anger of the owner.

"Remus, is that?" Scarlet asked dumbfounded.

"Sorry Alberforth, and no it isn't Scarlet." her surrogate father tried to multitask to conversations.

"Is that everyone?" the man called Alberforth, that so resembled Dumbledore, asked Remus.

"I'm not sure, who else has come?" Remus asked.

"The whole Weasley family I think, they said only a few more people would arrive. I'm getting sick of kids and everything moving in and out of my bar." He huffed angrily.

However, at the first mention of Weasley, Scarlet was already climbing up through the portrait and running through the tunnel that lead to Hogwarts. She could tell it was a long tunnel and so she transformed to her wolf form to make the distance quicker. Blinded by her desire to get to the end, she toppled out of the tunnel, landing face first on the Room of Requirement floor. She had landed in the middle of the entire Weasley family. Remus shortly followed, but he too found himself in an awkward situation. The family was unaware of their presence as Arthur and Molly were arguing with the hot headed Ginny.

Fleur had made to ease the tension by engaging in conversation quite loudly with Remus. This had alerted the family to their presence, and as the twins turned to face Remus, they caught sight of Scarlet.

"Fred!" she screamed with delight and ran towards him, engulfing him in a hug and kissing him full in the mouth.

They quickly separated but for two different reasons. One, they were quickly reminded of their audience as George had coughed quite loudly, but the other reason was because it seemed for a moment, only Scarlet enjoyed their kiss.

"It's good to see you." Fred smiled hugging her tightly.

"I've missed you so much." she said, her head resting on his chest.

"Well, you're going to have to miss him for a bit longer. We'll have to split up, to defend the castle." Remus stated, and he was right.

"What am I to do?" Scarlet, turned sharply raising her hand to her forehead.

"Alert McGonagall that you're here. I have no doubt she'll have a job for you." Remus instructed her, and just before she made to run and find McGonagall, she gave Fred a quick peck on the cheek.

Savouring it, she ran out of the room, and transformed so as to cover more ground. Little did she know, that that kiss might be her last. The real battle was about to begin, and it was only going to be the beginning of a long struggle. The worst was yet to come.
