She didn't expect to see Harry asking for her attention, and instead decided to wait for him outside. The Great Hall was too much for her and she'd prefer to have a conversation with the man in a relatively more stable state. The sound of footsteps on concrete and gravel broke her train if thought and turning her head, she gasped a little at the sight before her.
"What's with the look of surprise?" Harry asked, finally reaching her side.
"Didn't expect to see you without Hermione and Ron." She gestured to the lack of presence at his side. "Forgive me as I take a moment to really grain this into memory."
"Is this you coping?" He knew she had suffered just as much as everyone else, and was very much of aware of the puffiness around her eyes.
"Maybe... You have a better method?" She had finally brought up the courage to look him fully in the eye.
"No, sorry..." He muttered, and yet despite his tone he held his gaze.
"Alrighty then, well... What do you need me for?" She sighed falling back into her role as a pawn and to follow the instructions of others.
She could hear his breath, it was calm and focused. This battle must have done something to him, because the last she remembered of him in their Hogwarts days, were how on edge he could be. Sirius' death certainly didn't help the matter, even that thought brought a twang of pain.
"Well, Remus and Tonks left us with a job." He answered after some time, and Scarlet once again was consumed with an almost irreplaceable guilt.
"Teddy..." The name fell from her lips with a fresh patter of silent tears.
"It wasn't your fault Scarlet, there was nothing else you could do." Harry consoled her, placing his hand on her shoulder and throwing his head back in thought.
"I-"
"He thanks you... What you did for him, and he's sorry he made you do it."
"And how would you know what he thinks?" She barked at him, putting a fair amount of distance between the two of them.
"I saw him, after..." She didn't need an explanation, but she understood what he was trying to tell her, and that seemed to fill some empty space within her.
"So... Teddy?" She asked, wiping away the wetness of her cheeks.
"We'll have to tell Andromeda." Harry started, and the two of them looked down with the thought of the reaction that news would bring.
"Yes, and she may want to hold onto him." Scarlet, raised the thought that had come to her the moment his name came from her mouth.
"She can, but there are... more, pressing matters regarding his-"
"You don't need to say it, I already know what you need of me." She sighed, pulling her hand through her hair letting it catch on all the tangles.
"Will you, be able too?" He asked. Despite Harry being supportive of Remus and the struggles of werewolves it had always been a sensitive topic for him, and that may have been because they weren't exactly the safest of creatures.
"Will I? Of course I'll be able. He'll only be a pup, but the early stages will be the worst." She said, remembering every pain she had experienced in her youth and how teething was certainly the most animalistic stage of her life.
"But I thought-"
"He's not, pure. He should learn to cope, but I'll be sure to always be with him during the full moons." She cocked her head to the side as though that was obvious.
