Do you realize how much potential the boy has?", a man tapping his fingers upon the exquisite desk asked, looking to his companions
"I do admit that he has much potential in power, but can he learn to weild it for the betterment of Remnant?" asked the Atlesian General, named Ironwood with his hands clasped around his back walking closer to the man
"I believe that he can be a great enemy if he would be used against us, to be sure, but the boy wants to help people. He cares for others and he is not simply in it for the publicity. He doesn't have it in him to harm the innocent." stated the figure getting out of his chair not caring to push it in and looking outside the tower window, overlooking his illustrious Academy.
"You seem to be putting a lot of faith in this young man. Why?", with an eyebrow raised, a questioning look written all over his features
The Headmaster turned from the window and looked at his colleague, "Many reasons but one we can agree on, because sooner rather than later we find ourselves at a tipping point. Our enemies are making their move on the field that we play, and they have their sights set on our most valuable pieces. Just look at what almost happened to Amber.", he said closing his eyes no longer able to look at the reflection in the window, "They are moving for their first checkmate. We cannot allow that to happen, or risk losing all we hold dear."
Ironwood rolled his eyes at the metaphorical remark that was just made. The man seemed to always think of it as a chess game. Though he knew he was right, things could become dire fairly quick given their situation.
"What about the placement of this young man? We are already full on this semester's registrations and there are no backups that we could accept last minute." Asked Glynenda Goodwitch, her hand outward like she was expecting her response to be handed to her palm
"He will just be the odd one out for now, he can join a team on assignments if he wishes, but something tells me that he doesn't need a team even if fail to achieve creating one, besides we have at least some time."
Ironwood just sighed, running his gloved hands through his hair, "Ozpin, you do whatever you feel is necessary. For the meantime I need to get back to Atlas. Semester starts in a week's time and you know preparations must be made and maintained accordingly.", making his way towards the elevator door for his depature.
"James." Called out the cloudy haired Headmaster now known as Ozpin
Ironwood turns toward the man with the cane, "Yes?"
"Do not forget, that the time has come for us to all work together in this endeavor, I need your full cooperation in this.", he said adjusting his glasses. Staring intently as if studying his very soul
The general gave a half effort smirk, "You have my full support and cooperation. I'll be in touch soon." as he walked out of the tower.
Now back at his desk, the Headmaster looked to his fellow professor who had a unhappy look etched to her face, "I cannot say I agree with you on this matter, but I trust your judgement.", she said
Glynda walked out of the room without another word. Leaving the man to his thoughts as he traveled back to his desk to sit and take it all in.
Ozpin had thousands of scenarios running through his head. Everything that could go wrong, or everything that could go right in his hopeful optimistic view or what he had left of it atleast. His experience made it somewhat difficult to see the good at times. He was completely suprised by this young man that laid before him, he was indeed a wildcard that he wasn't expecting to have available to yield in the coming days.
In all his years never has he discovered someone with so much raw aura and untapped power, his lineage to be sure. Untrained, properly at least, he seemed like a normal student with plenty of skill to use, however once he reaches his peak?
He will be as powerful as the maidens themselves. Perhaps more so in some aspects.
He recalled an old folktale, one where that of a peacekeeper was called upon to keep the other power players of the world in line, a check on the others. He never believed to think it real but then also remembered that he deals with fairytales on a daily basis, a regular occurrence in the world as even he could use magic to mind-numbing degrees.
Taking a drink from the cup of what looked to be tea, he put the antique silver back on its plate and clasped his hands together. Eyes narrowing on the file currently in front of him, not taking his eyes off of it.
"Well, Mister Regan, let us see what transpires with you added into the equation of this.", not already knowing that he has already had an impact on the upcoming students that soon would occupy his halls..
Hello and welcome to the story, I decided to just write this as I didn't need any new information for this scene, any critique is welcome and I'll see you in a few weeks.
