*Stefan*

Elena wanted to do a normal human thing so we went grocery shopping. Alaric and Caroline have settled into one of the five guest rooms in the house. I slept in Damon's bed as Elena occupied mine because she fell asleep on the sofa and had to be carried upstairs. I slept in my brother's bed for the first time ever. I left his room untouched, his laundry unwashed, his glasses still half filled with Bourbon. He did not return home since he left yesterday.

We had loaded the trolley with a lot of items. I saw Elena struggling and said, "Here, let me." I tried to take the trolley off her to make it easier but it's never easy with Elena.

"No!" She protested, "If I'm going to be human for the remainder of my life, then I'm going to learn to do simple things like handle a heavy shopping trolley."

I looked around at the few humans in the aisle. I could smell their blood and hear their veins pulsing. Elena noticed my eyes and quickly grabbed my shoulders. She looked at me with those big doe eyes and said, "Stefan, what the hell. Control yourself."

I took a deep breath and turned around until I got my situation under control. I turned around to face an almost scared looking Elena. I said, "I compelled one girl to go out into public for me. Whether it was to get me food, more Bourbon, pick something up from dry cleaning or anything I wanted. I just stayed in my house. The bloodlust is now back. I haven't had a good blood bag in over a year. They don't taste the same."

"Are you a threat to humans?" she asked.

"Well since the only thing I can smell is your blood and the only thing I can hear is your heart pumping blood around your body then I'm saying yes," I sighed.

"Go sit in the car. I can't give you my blood because the cure runs through my veins," she sighed.

I nodded sadly as I was disappointed at myself. I walked outside the store and was about to walk to the car when I saw a guy shove a girl. I listened in. He said, "Get up, you stupid bitch. We have to go shopping."

The girl picked herself off the floor and fixed her beautiful blond hair. She held his arm and said, "Travis, please don't do that."

He ripped his arm out of the girl's hands and looked at her with disgust. He said, "Babe, I told you not to wear that dress because it's slutty-"

I rushed over to them and stood behind him. "Hi," he quickly turned around. I clearly surprised him. "I overheard you two talking and I think that's a beautiful sundress you're wearing."

The girl smiled sweetly but her face soon dropped when the boy glared at her. He turned to face me and said, "Get away, you dick. She's my girlfriend."

I looked the girl in the eyes and compelled her, "You had a little spat. You got annoyed and left him at the supermarket. Go home." She turned and walked away.

The girl said, "Yo man, that's my girl. What the-"

"Follow me," I compelled him. I walked over to the side of the supermarket. Nobody was in sight. I stopped walking and said, "Don't move. Don't make a sound." I hesitated for a moment before grabbing him and ripping into his neck. I knew it was wrong but he just tasted so good. I pulled away before he fell unconscious and said, "Forget everything that just happened. Go home."

I wiped my mouth with a tissue that was in my pocket and I threw it away. I sauntered back to the car where Elena was putting shopping into the boot of the car. I looked at her and just got into the passenger side. What if she knows? What will she say? Why couldn't I just have fed from one of the blood bags under my seat?

Elena got into the driver's seat and turned to face me. She put the keys in and was about to start the engine but stopped. She turned to me and asked, "Say Damon wasn't working for Cade, do you think he would've been the one to come to me in the trailer?"
