"I didn't think you would ever come back," I confess.

"I promised you caneles, didn't I?" Kousei responds.

"Have you been practicing?" I ask.

"Yeah."

"You don't want to be here, do you?"

"I do, but I don't know what say," he says with pain in his face.

"Just go back to the way things were before. Just forget about everything, like you've pressed the reset button. There's no point in remembering me anyway." Tears from in my eyes. "A violinist who can't even hold her own bow. It's pointless."

He quickly eats all of the caneles that he brought me. I yell at him as he yells at me, telling me that I need to stop being such a grump. He slams the door as he leaves. I laugh. Laugh so hard. "You really are weird."

Everyone comes to visit me today. Kousei all alone in the corner again. They tell me that he's performing at a school festival with the girl that he's teaching. It's in four days. I just wish that I was the one waltzing with him again.
