"W-What?" I stuttered. My eyes popped and my heart pounded against my chest. I could feel and hear my heart in my ears. It was as if everything was in slow motion or rather I was. I couldn't run fast enough after Jason who sprinted down the stairs. I was so slow, by the time I got down the stairs, he and Justin were gone. It was just Colin and Kayla who looked confused as all hell. Well there goes the dinner plans.
"Hey, what's wrong with Jason, bae?" Colin asked stepping closer to me once I reached the bottom stair. It took me some time to register who was in front of me. I balled up my fist, bringing my arm back. I threw it back forward, hitting Colin dead in his mouth.
"DAMN IT!" I cursed. My fist began throbbing and was surely gonna be bruised in the morning. I held it gently to keep myself from throwing another punch at Colin and it was stinging pretty bad.
He didn't shout, yell, anything. He stumbled back a little and held his mouth in disbelief. Yet he tried to comfort me. He tried to hold my bruised hand but I snatched it away. I removed my perfect hand from the bruised one and pointed to the door. "Bye Colin. I don't wanna see you right now. You're such a damn liar!" I stammered. Tears threatened to pour from my brown eyes and not even because of the pain that was increasing in my fist. Like damn...did I punch a brick wall? I know it's been a while since I actually fought without gloves but damn this hurt like hell. I never remembered it hurting this freakin' much.
"Bae, what's wrong?" Colin tried to get an answer out of me and before I could punch him again, Kayla stepped in. "Colin I think it's best that you leave." She pointed to the door.
Colin nodded and gave in. "Okay. I'll call you tonight." And with that he left.
I let out a strong string of cuss words when he left the house. I was saying all sorts of things. Things that didn't even make sense.
Exhaling loudly, I walked over to the couch. I sat down in the single leather couch. Kayla walked into the living room holding a bag of ice. She gently put it on my throbbing fist. I lowly thanked her.
My doorbell rung and I stood up to answer the door. Yet, Kayla stopped me. She gently pushed me back down on the couch. "I got it." She said lowly.
I sighed and sunk into the couch farther. I was so depressed right now that it made no sense. I felt completely helpless yet completely strong. And those two feelings really didn't mix well and shouldn't be mixed together. I couldn't believe he lied to me again. I had fell for it too. I just wanted to know what was so bad or why he wouldn't tell the public about us. We are never together in public and if we are, someone else is with us like Jason. Was it because I wasn't famous? Was it because I wasn't a model or something important. I was just a big time lawyer behind the scenes. I've been on the news a lot for winning big cases but that's nothing compared to what usual celebrities do.
My thoughts were suddenly interrupted when I saw Rose weeping next to me. She looked like a complete mess. Her hair was tangled and poofy and her eyes had huge bags under them. She wore a loose fitted long sleeve shirt, Nike sweats and UGGs. She hardly wore sweats unless she was depressed or sick and judging by her eyes, she was depressed.
"Baby girl what's wrong?" I stood to my knees and leaned over to her chair. I used my thumb to wipe away her tears that cascaded down her wet cheeks.
"Alexander and I broke up." She croaked out. I gasped. Her and Alexander had been dating since their freshman year in high school and now they're a senior in college. I was surprised they weren't married yet.
"What happened?" Kayla asked in disbelief. Even she knew how serious their relationship was.
Rose shrugged and kicked her feet like a child throwing a tantrum. "He gave that 'It's not you it's me.' speech." She rolled her eyes just as she rolled her neck. She uttered, "Bull crap." Rose sat up fully in her chair and took a good look at me. "What happened to your fist?" She shrieked. She never really liked when I was a boxer or when I fought period. She never really gave a legit reason either.
