I looked away from her and she only came and stood in front of me. I looked down at her shoes. She always had decent shoes. "Leave me alone Carly." I wiped my tears and looked up at her. She didn't move. I don't know why but she didn't. "Nuhu" I made a confused face. "Say what now?" She looked down at me. "No, I came out here to find you. I can't leave without you." I looked at her a rolled my eyes. "You ain't talked to me in the longest. Why you talking to me now?" She huffed. "A while back I shut everyone out because my grandfather died." I shrugged. "What's that got to do with me being out here?" She looked at me with a look, the only look I ever had on my face and for once I seen what I looked like. "What I'm saying is I know how you feel. I never wanted to go to school." I shrugged again. I ain't really trying to get close to nobody no time soon because I know how they get asking about your personal life. I ain't got time to be telling somebody all my business. "Look I'm sorry for not being there for you." She wasn't ready and I wasn't either because I got scared my self. "Sorry?? You're sorry?! You weren't there for me at all and now you're sorry? Do you know how much pain I was in?" She looked like she'd seen a ghost. "I was in pain too!!" I wiped the tears that had formed in my eyes before giving her one last look. I couldn't believe she had the nerve to say that. I understand that was her grand daddy but in her case it's different. My daddy killed himself to save us. Her grand daddy was older. But like I said my rough exterior couldn't get destroyed, I've come to far to turn back. Especially in front of her. I wasn't going to tell my business. Then right before I touched the handle on the door I heard her running towards me. I grabbed the handle and right before I turned it.. "Wait! I just want my best friend back!" I turned the knob and didn't walk in without saying something to her. "Oh, good. Go get her." I walked in the building without even caring if she followed me in or not. I didn't care who looked for me at this point. I wasn't looking for them and I didn't wanna talk anyways. I walked back to the class and it was empty. They probably went to lunch and expect me to show up. They're wrong. I grab my bookbag and put all my stuff in it. I turned to walk out and I didn't even get to put my foot out the door. "Where are you going?" It was Carly. Oh God. "Carly why do you care? What are you gonna do? Go and tell Mrs. Jefferson? Sorry to break it to you but no one cares about me and it wouldn't hurt if you and everyone didn't look for me. Don't waste your time. Goodbye Ms. Peterson." I brushed shoulders with her on my way out. "Excuse me." I smiled and walked out the class feeling her eyes on me.
