Daesung's POV

I lost her.

Those two words rang in my ears as I looked at the limp body next to me. All thoughts about the possibilities of Taeyang hyung killing me painfully and slowly were out of the windows, instead it was replaced by deep sadness that were seeping into my soul, or what's left of it. My eyes started to water as I brought a shaky hand to her face, touching the cold surface of her smooth skin. She shouldn't be this cold. Although I regret it, she's human, and a human should be warm.

"Hyuna." I croaked out, blinking my tears away harshly.

I leaned forward and placed my head on her shoulder, my hand was still on the other side of her cheek. I bit my quivering bottom lip as I tried holding myself together, but her scent was drowning me. It was the same passion red that never failed to intrigue me, it hung in the limited space of the car, cold as ever. My heart were ready to jump in another batch of explanation about how her scent was different and addicting when my mind snapped back.

Her scent. If she was dead it wouldn't be as strong, but here it was, intense as ever.

A hope flickered in me as I leaned back and brought another hand to the hollow of her neck, my heart was desperate for any sign that she was alive. As my skin touched her neck, I tried not to cringe at the unusual cold of her skin and focused on that spot, until I felt a small pulse.

To say that I was relieved was an understatement. I was overjoyed. She didn't die. She was close to, but her weak pulse showed that she was still alive. But I wasn't going to take any chance, I have to get her to the doctor or someone. I'm not going to go through that moment again, it scared me more than dying.

I opened the door on my side and used my superhuman speed to her side and opened the door, catching her with my arms just when she was about to hit the ground. I cradled her small body and it was awkward because her legs were still inside the car and I was only hugging her shoulder with her face against my chest. But it was the closest I've been with her since her last life, and that time when I teleported us back to her small apartment from the park wasn't counted because I was only getting her out of the danger zone. This was no difference, but I can't stop myself from staring at the beauty I have in my arms.

My eyes trailed to her closed eyes and cute button nose. I noticed the small beauty mark under her eye, and my eyes trailed to her luscious lips. I reached a hand and brushed her hair off of her face, a ghost of smile worked its way onto my face as I took in her face. She looked just like she did a few centuries ago, sweet and innocent. Back then she used to smile and laugh a lot, like she wasn't worrying about anything, back when she had someone to love and love her back. She had Taeyang hyung, she had us.

But most importantly I had her.

The small tinge of pain in my chest was enough to pull me back to the present. Remembering what I was going to do before I was disrupted by my thoughts, I hurriedly settled her upper body in my arm and was about to slip another hand under her legs when I heard a menacing growl behind me.

It was only an hour but time passed as an eternity for her. Youngji had been sitting on the floor, leaning against the door as she counted how many split ends she had on her hair. She should stop bleaching her hair but she can't help it. Ashy brown was the new thing and she have to get it on her head by the end of the month. Well, she couldn't have if she was locked inside that room for god knows how long.

Sighing harshly, she cursed herself for trusting a vampire. Cunning was in their nature as they needed it so that they could live. Those sneaky creature used their manipulative ability to feed off a poor human. Seungri was no exception, but Youngji knew it wasn't entirely his fault. He didn't even use his ability on her, not that it would work.

After all, she had brought this upon herself, So much for being jealous over him and his little fans. What were she thinking?!

Grunting again, she rose up from her sitting position staring at the door knob, contemplating whether she should do it or not.

Oh, screw him and his Prince. I've lived long enough anyway. She thought and jumped into action. She examined the knob and stood back, grinning.

"This should be easy." She murmured, feeling giddy as she reached up to her hair, pulling out a bobby pin.

She used to sneak out when one of the old descendants moved the shrine to an underground cell. Those were her dark days, when witches were hunted and burnt at stakes, and the old hag that inherited her was afraid to be claimed as a witch and hid her at the horrible place. She had pleaded for the descendant not to, and even threatened to put a curse over the whole family, but both of them knew that she wouldn't because she simply couldn't and even if she could, she won't because it will affect her too. At the end of the day, she was moved to the cell and the old woman had placed a heavy rusty chain around the bar and latched it with a big padlock. She grew tired of the nauseating smell of a dead rat and wet floor so she mastered the art of picking locks just to escape that dreadful place for a while. It was hard, her fingers were red and blistered when she finally understood how it worked but it was worth it.

A click was heard and her grin widened. She pulled her bangs back and fastened the pin onto her hair to hold it together before reaching to the knob and slowly twisting it around. She sent out a prayer to the goddess and breathed out in relief when the door swung open without any sound. She peeked out to the hall and when she couldn't see any human activity, she slipped out and closed the door slowly. She was in a place filled with vampire, so it was a test to her sneakiness. Looking down to her white flats, she pulled it off her feet and held it in one hand.

"It's now or never." She mumbled, took a deep breath and raced down the hallway as quiet as possible.

She was about to run pass another hallway, cursing inwardly how big that castle was, before she hastily brought her steps to halt. She hid just in time when a couple of people ran passed where she came from, to the hallway that she know led to the entrance. She stiffened when she recognised one of the person as Seungri and cursed herself of her scent. Being a vampire he had an upper hand, one of it was the ability to smell someone. He wasn't as good as Daesung, but still his sense of smell was strong. But he just ran past after the other person and she stifled a sigh.

Then a thought came to her: Seungri might be the epitome of idiocy, but he never let his senses down, and when he did it meant something bad or more of importance that needed his assistance happened.

Youngji gulped harshly and craned her head to the side where they came from. When she didn't see anyone, she trailed after the guys which led her to the entrance. She heard it before she even saw it, the voices themselves drained her blood.

It can't be. She thought and pushed her legs faster. They must be so stupid.

In no time she reached the entrance, the light emitted by the moon was enough to help her human eyes to see what was happening. Her heart dropped to her stomach as she took in the dreadful sight in front of her. Panic and anger rose within her and before she knew it she screamed.
