O U T of all of them he happened to be her favorite. He was the saddest and maybe she could relate to him the most because of that. She finds solace in simply being tucked against him, and he the same. She could think of you without feeling bad about doing so.

Of course they did more than just lay with each other sometimes but today isn't one of those days. Today is a day of pure comfort, of rest. His hand lazily makes a pathway from one point of her body to the next. His breath fans her neck. Wanting to be closer, she makes the decision to turn around and give him a chaste kiss. He smiles lightly at her, when she stares at him.

Unlike the others, he always much more hard to figure out. His eyes held no emotion, leaving no room to see that heartbreak. She couldn't tell if he was even heartbroken at all anymore. And if he wasn't then he was a lucky one, but she hopes that it's not because of her. He had been the only one who hadn't shown love for her the way the others have, and it would be difficult if she were to have to add him on to the list.

Although not completely, she's more of herself around him than anyone else. She's like a close companion to him, one she prays he doesn't see anything in other then a getaway from the outside world.

She takes back what she said about today being a comfort day. She needs him. Grabbing the hem of his shirt, she urges him to take it off. He sits up in understanding and beckons her to do the same. They attack each other with more kisses and fall back on the bed. Their hands claw at each other, roaming.

Suddenly she sees a ballroom. There are chandeliers. There are expensive tables and champagne colored decor. There are people in classy dresses and suits. Then there's her, sitting alone at a table, watching with dread as the entire reception mocks her soul. At a fresh age of twenty one, she sips on a strawberry daiquiri, relishing in the sweet taste. Her mother is even on the dance floor. In the mist of it all, she sees you coming toward her. And here she thought you would ignore her the whole time.

I n a m o r a t a , you look so sad.

All she could do was turn her head to the side.

I'm fine.

You appeared to be taken back.

Are you, upset? Ina you mean everything to me. Do you think - do you think that I made the wrong decision?

She shook her head feverishly and waved you off.

I'm just tired, I promise. Save me a dance later okay?

You hesitated,

So I made the right decision?

She nodded yes and with a worried look you turned.

She watched as you walked away and thought about what she should have said when asked about making the right decision.

No.

She shakes her head and focuses on reality, on him. Their clothes are completely off now. He rubs at her cheek and presses his nose to hers. She puts her hand over top his and moves it all the way down so he's touching a place where many have gone. He freezes. Eyes shut, he breathes out heavily. She wants to know what's wrong. He struggles with his feelings. It isn't supposed to be like this. She was simply supposed to be his distraction and he the same for her. But then he got to know her.

She wants to yell out no, it seems that saying no isn't the easiest thing for her. It's then that she knows for sure he's no longer heartbroken, and it's because he found something that helped fix him. Her. She sees the way his lips part, as if he's about to utter something whether if it's real or not.

I n a m o r a t a , I love you.

It's like a curse. Her mind screams he sounds so w r o n g , because it will only sound r i g h t , when spoken from the lips she can never k i s s .

N O T E . Next is the epilogue, then you'll understand why she can't be with the one she loves.
