Chapter 9: I Hate You

Ashley's P.O.V

Miranda and I walk to Raymond's office where he always is.

"Uncle Raymond?" Miranda asks with a hopeful smile. Why doesn't she get it? He doesn't really care about up.

"Sorry girls. I'm busy," he says.

"Uncle Raymond," I say sternly. He looks up from his stack of papers. I swallow. "We want answers. Now."

"About what?" He asks.

"Why does the world think I'm dead?" I ask. He sighs.

"I did it to protect you-" he starts.

"Protect us?! From what?! Knowing we had family?! No! You knew we'd find out like this! You wanted to hurt us!! You don't care about us that's why!!" I yell at him. Miranda grabs my shoulder from the side.

"Calm down Ash," she says.

"I do care! Otherwise you wouldn't be in my home," he says.

"You know what? Screw it. I'm done," I say and throw my hands in the air. "I hate you." I push Miranda's hand off my shoulder and walk away.
