Long ago, the humans and monsters lived in peace, the humans had nothing to fear from the monsters as they had no power besides their own, the humans built large villages for the monsters and kept them close to keep an eye on them, one monster did not stay in the villages, his name was Gaster, he resented the humans, he knew what they were doing, they were trying to control the monsters, prevent them from gaining any kind of power that would overthrow them.
Gaster resented the humans and called upon the Monster King Asgore one day to ask the humans to come to his cabin in a few days for a little show that he would hold, after awhile the humans did show up to his Cabin, but when they went inside, they never came back out, Gaster had trapped them and done dark rituals to drain them of their lives in exchange for power, he was walking with a jar of the essence of power he'd acquired and was taking it for the king to see in the middle of the square, all the monsters had gathered to see this announcement that Gaster had for the Monster King, but when Gaster got to the middle of the square he was impaled with an arrow in the back, he dropped the jar immediately it shattered and a cloud of rainbow color covered the square then was absorbed into every monster present, King Asgore looked at his fallen monster comrade who was weak but still alive he looked at the humans who had caused such damage and he grew angry, this anger he directed at the humans who were immediately struck by a bolt of lightning, their commander reduced to ashes the humans fled in fear, King Asgore could not believe he was capable of something like that but the magic he felt flowing through him told him otherwise, he gathered all the monsters together and carrying Gaster they journeyed into the underground where he looked back sadly as a barrier formed from his emotions to prevent anyone from ever bothering them again.
