"Okay Katie, good job we're proud of you, now I'm going to show you what to do so you don't get hurt." Sam said walking across the top of the wall. It had taken them half of her time to climb up the wall.
"Hurt? I was dangling off the wall and you guys just yelled at me like I was wasting your time." Katie protested crossing her arms over her chest.
"Because you were acting like you would've died. Listen we don't want you hurt but, this is how we have to train you. Because in the real world in a real battle we won't be able to save you all of the time." Sam snapped at Katie. Katie could feel eyes going from her to Sam.
"Now, for this part of the training all you need to do is, run across the bridge, swing down the rope or climb down it, and hit the training dummy with your hatchet." Sam instructed pointing to the obstacles.
"I don't even have my hatchet, Hero does. Plus how will I get down the rope with one hand?" Katie asked in confidence Sam had not thought of that.
"Jesus Christ, stop complaining and put this on." Nick said throwing something leather and heavy at Katie. Barley catching it; Katie looked a the object in confusion.
"Oh my God, It is a thigh weapon holder. You slide your leg through it and adjust the strap so it won't fall off." Julian said rolling his eyes. Katie felt the rage in her stomach growing from all of the sarcastic remarks she was getting.
"Well I am so sorry that I don't know how the hell to use a weapon holder." Katie snapped back while she put the weapon holder on her thigh.
"Just hurry up Katie and you guys leave her alone. We have to train her and we all went through the same issues." Sam said giving one of the biggest death glares Katie had ever seen.
"I saw you guys train when you first got here. None of you were that bad." Nick said ruffling his hair. "Nick, please just stop." Sam said in a softer voice.
"Fine." Nick said looking at Sam's face.
"Are you done yet Katie?" Hero asked looking at Katie.
"Yeah hopefully it won't fall off." Katie said nodding and standing up.
"Okay now just take your hatchet and you'll be good to go." Hero said holding the hatchet out to Katie's hand. Katie's still sore hand reached out and took the slightly heavy hatchet from Hero's strong grip.
"Blade side down so when you grab it you don't cut yourself." Hero warned her quickly. Nodding and mumbling a quick thanks Katie slide the hatchet into the holder. She could feel the cold metal agents her leg; sending shivers up her spine.
"Okay, are you ready?" Sam asked looking at the hatchet; a look of worry in her gray eyes.
"I guess I am." Katie muttered looking at her feet. Katie could feel everyone eyes on her and she wished in her head that they would all go away.
"We will show you what to do first and then you follow us. Okay?" Sam said stretching her arms over her head.
"Okay I guess." Katie said looking up and rubbing her forearm.
"I'll go fi-first." Blake stuttered out as he cracked his knuckles. Blake turned to face the old looking wood bridge and took a deep breath. He started sprinting to the bridge and he ran across it breaking one of the old planks. He then leaped and wrapped his pale hands around the rope and slid down. Once his feet touched the marble floor he sprinted across. He reached his hand to his side and drew out a pair of nunchucks joined together by a long silver chain. Blake took one of the nunchucks and swung the other at the dummy. The metal nunchuck hit the dummy is the head, knocking it off. Katie could feel her jaw drop with surprise at how Blake did what he did. Blake was so shy and sweet it was so difficult to picture him killing anything.
