"Do I have to go to this stupid party Char?" you protested as Charlie was rummaging through your wardrobe to find something mildly decent for you to put on for this stupid New Years Eve party. Your wardrobe literally consisted of plaid shirts, skinny jeans, grey oversized hoodies and that one little black dress you bought for a friends hen night - basically a girly girls worst nightmare.

"Yes you do. Now, where...AHA! I knew you had to have at least one dress, which is gorgeous by the way" Charlie beamed as she handed you the little black dress that hadn't seen the light of day in 3 years. You grabbed the dress, deciding there was no arguing against the mighty Charlie Bradbury; against her, your powers of persuasion were deemed useless.

You had already had your makeup done by your mother an hour before. A smokey eye effect with a dark purple lipstick. Your mum was amazing at makeup so you were always happy to be her subject of practise when you went out for the night. You looked in the mirror at your hair that just reached your collar bone. You were blessed with natural beach waves so this length hair never looked flat or lifeless. You put on the cute little dress that stopped just above your knee. It had long lace sleeves and an open front. It was mostly backless so it showed off your toned back muscles. You were a personal trainer so you had quite a nice body for someone of your age. You dug into your jewellery box and fished out your moose bracelet and your angel wings necklace. The bracelet was given to you by Charlie, you both thought it was super cute. The necklace was given to you by your big brother Castiel. Ironic right? Angel name, angel wings. Typical Cas.

"If you weren't straight, I would totally tap that" Charlie whispered as you walked out of the bathroom.

"What, and ruin this perfection. I don't think so Bradburry" you replied winking at her which made her swoon.

Charlie was already ready in her cute floral two piece that she would never be caught dead in if she wasn't attending a party. She had light makeup because she didn't really need it, she had natural beauty - lucky for some. Once you got to the party, you headed straight for the bar. What? You couldn't get through a whole 5 hours of this sober, it was also mandatory to stay until midnight since it was New Years Eve. Same shit different year was all you could think about when the bar tender came over with your drink.

"Well someone doesn't want to be here nearly as much as me!" a tall guy said as he came over to order himself a drink; referring to how strong you had ordered yours - a double.

"Not really my scene" you replied quietly, sipping your drink.

"Me neither, I'm like that really tall awkward guy"

"I never would've guessed" you teased, pretending to crane your neck to look at the hansom guy standing in front of you.

"So she jokes now huh?" he replied leaning on your shoulder "Yep, perfect arm rest height me thinks"

"Hey! Heightist!" you accused, swatting his hand away.

"What's your name anyway?" he asked

"Y/N,"

"Sam"

You and Sam talked all night about the most randomist things you could think of until you knew basically every aspect of his life and he knew yours. Whenever you spoke he looked at you with this intense look that just made you want to jump his bones. It made it very hard for you to stay focused. His long brown hair looked so soft and had so much potential to be played with. He had a light stubble that you were sure you would feel if you two were ever to kiss. Overall, he was gorgeous, drop dead gorgeous.

"You look beautiful tonight, Y/N" Sam said just loud enough for you to hear.

"Thank you, you scrubbed up well I suppose" you smiled looking his tux up and down. Sam put his hand in the small of your back to support you as you both stepped outside at 11:55pm. The fireworks were starting in 5 minutes to mark the start of the new year. Not a big deal in your eyes but it seemed important to Sam so you went along with it.

You both stood at the edge of the balcony of the fancy bar the party was being held at and looked at the stars.

"When I'm feeling upset, I look at the stars and wish I had someone to tell me what the constellations are. They always look so pretty but hardly anyone knows their names" you slurred a little.

"Well that one is a Ryan's belt, and that one is Orion" Sam pointed out

"Thats so cool, thank you" you smiled up at him

"New year new me right?" you chuckled

"No one ever keeps to that and you know it" Sam sassed back

"You never know I could"

"I highly doubt it with what I know about you know"

Before you could protest about how your commitment skills are on point, Sam pulled you in for a kiss at the stroke of midnight. You froze for a split second before kissing him back and wrapping your arms around his neck. He placed his hands on your hips and rubbed circles on your hip bones with his thumbs. You pulled away when you heard the fireworks start.

"Don't you want to watch the fireworks?" you asked looking up at Sam.

"We'll make our own" He said before pulling you in for another kiss.
