Avi's POV
I couldn't believe that I let her go to that concert.
"Are you sure?" her question kept replaying in my head. "Do you not want me to go?" she asked me. She gave me an out, but I felt so crappy about leaving and letting work get in the way of our day, I probably would've let her get away with murder. Still, she loves Bruno Mars. It would be pretty selfish of me to keep her from going to that show. I was trying to keep an open mind. but the thought of her out there without me was eating at me.
"I'm actually pretty beat." I lied. I knew I would more than likely end up staying up waiting for her, but I would never let her know that. I was hanging out in my room with Kevin in an attempt to distract myself, but it was no use. My body was there, but my heart was at a concert doing who-knows-what with who-knows-whom. Its not that I didn't trust her. It was him I didn't trust. She means the world to me and there was no way I could hide the fact that I saw him as a threat from myself. Despite this, I wasn't going to let a suspicion get in the way of her joy. I just hope she was having fun
End POV
Ooh, chunky
Lookin' for them girls with the big ol' hoops
That drop it down in daisy dukes (I wanna get down)
Yeah, them the ones I'm tryna' recruit
I'm looking at you
Yeah, you, baby (baby, baby)I danced to the beat of the song from backstage. Everyone in the audience was losing their minds and cheering like crazy.
"Okay guys, I made a friend today and this is her first time in this beautiful city." he said.
"Nooooooo!" I shouted in my head.
"I'm trying to show her a good time tonight, so can y'all help me get her out here?" he asked and the arena exploded with screams and applause. I shook my head.
"No way." I mouthed to him. He laughed and ran up to me and pulled me by my wrist to center stage. I looked out into the sea of people. The cellphone lights and cameras weren't like anything I had ever seen. Its not like this was my first time being close to the action at a concert, but I had never been on a stage like this. Even when I was traveling on the Sway tour, I always danced backup so all I did was focus on not tripping over my own two feet. "Whoa." was all I could let slip from my lips.
"Pretty great, right?" Bruno asked. I smiled at his question. "You guys give a warm welcome to my friend Erica!" he said and the crowd continued its enthusiasm. "Erica and I kind of got into a little bit of a dispute today about which one of us is better dancer and I have to admit that she may have given me a little run for my money." I rolled my eyes with a slight smirk. "Well, I wanted to take this time to redeem myself and challenge you to a rematch.". My eyes widened a little at his words. I bit my lower lip.
"I mean, if you're okay with the amazing chance that you'll be shamed in front of all these people." I said teasingly and shrugged.
"Okay fellas!" he said to his band. "Start the music and lets get this started!" he said as the beat started.
The Next Morning
I groaned as I reached for my phone looking for what time it was. "What day is it" I asked myself. It was a tiring night last night and I had gotten in pretty late. I put on my glasses since I knew I wouldn't have the time nor patience to put in my contacts. I saw that I had a text from Bruno.
"Last night was fun. I'll hit you up next time I'm in New York." I read through sleepy eyes. I let out a heavy yawn when my phone rang and I saw that it was Lena.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHH!" was all I could hear and startled out any remaining feelings of drowsiness. I quickly hung up my phone and sat in silence for a few seconds.
