1972- Milan, Italy
"Are you sure this is safe?" I asked concerningly as my hands clung onto the sappy branches of the tree. The corners of the tattered green leaves allowed sunlight to peer through with its painful rays in my eyes.
"Nope. But hey, life is no fun without a little bit of adventure." Alden replied as he placed his leg onto the tree's hollow lodge. The corners of his shirt and pants are covered in dirt and a bit of bark from the oak trees.
"Did you just quote a poem?" I snickered.
"Eh. My father has been pushing my teachers to add literature to my studies. Like that's gonna help me in the future."
Alden has been a bit bitter about what his father is making him study. Classic literature were one of the many that Alden believes to be pointless. Though honestly I don't see where classic literature comes in handy either.
"Leo- over there!" Alden suddenly shouted.
Almost immediately my line of sight curved to his voice. Making past the annoying leaves and the sun's rays we both caught sight of a small boy with his dark hair peering past a tree's cover. That curled top and rounded nose only indicated to one person and one person only.
Alden and I both exchanged mutual glances with mutual thoughts.
Raising one finger, I slowly counted.
"One-two-THREE!"
Simultaneously we both jumped down and landed...not so well. My left foot met the ground before the right, creating an uneven sense of balance, before slamming my body onto the rich dirt. Alden didn't do much better, he landed with his arm hitting the floor and ate a mouthful of soil too.
"O---w" He groaned.
"I'm never following you again. My legs are paying for it." I uttered while pushing my weight off the ground.
From a distance- a laughter could be heard as a light footstep was brought closer to our embarrassment.
"That looked painful."
"Don't rub it in Elliot. Besides it was you who wanted us to play hide and seek in the first place." Scratching his head, Alden pulled leaves apart from his hair while Elliot was still amuse with our landing.
I simply tried to brush off my glasses and hope for the best with one of the hinges hanging by the edge.
"I'm never playing hide and seek with you two again." Alden murmured quietly.
Me and Elliot both raised our eyebrows as we both knew-- that when afternoon rolls around he'll probably be asking us to play tag or something.
He is Alden after all.
"Master Alden! Master Elliot!" A voice called from a distance.
It echoed loud and clear despite being emitted from the main house, suddenly all three of us shared the same look before scurrying towards the backdoor. Frantically, we raced to the wooden door while trying to fix our shirts stained in brown and yellow.
Alden was the fastest while Elliot and I trailed behind trying to hide our mishaps.
We are so dead.
"Master Alden! Master Elliot!" The voice called again, this time a bit louder.
Dashing towards the wooden stairways we passed through the halls before turning a sharp corner to the right. Racing a bit more Alden turned but was met with a heavy weight that knocked him backwards.
Slowly our eyes traveled up the figure. A large woman with grey hair tied in a bun loomed over our bodies. Her eyes reflecting both her anger and disappointment in the shade of dark amber.
"M-miss A-mara." We squeaked in unison.
"Young masters, I've asked you not to run around the backyard today. For god's sake your father is going to be home soon and you're both covered in filth." Miss Amara scolded harshly, passing her attention to me she gave me this stern expression before carrying on.
"Leo, take the young Masters to change." She ordered.
"Yes Miss Amara."
Nodding my head, the three of us scrambled upstairs before sharing a chuckle. I wonder why you always laugh after getting chewed out.
Unless we're just weird. Which we are.
"Next time, we better play something less involved in climbing. And falling." Elliot added.
"Might I remind you it was your idea." Alden snapped.
"Well I wasn't the one that fell."
Huffing out a small puff of anger Alden technically couldn't refute. Which was rare.
He was Alden Worrick so he never loses, but then again this is Elliot Worrick.
Both of them are stubborn idiots.
A/N: @ladylily03 and @Still_Southern3, answered who Elliot is?
