1987 Milan, Italy

Shifting the car into its brakes, the vehicle gave a last jolt as my head sunk down to my feet. My fingers barely clutching the wheel, while all my weight heaved down on its surface.
My cheeks were against the round barrel as I feel everything around me starting turn bleak.

The things around me was warping.

The black wheel close to my eyes turned into a straying line of blackness, swirling every time I blinked. The car's window turned into a refracted image of a murky blue imprinted onto a surface.

I took a breath into my lungs.

Closing my eyes, I didn't feel like I had the strength to open them again.

I felt warm.

My muscles aching even though I wasn't moving.

From underneath, I could still hear the sounds of the car engine--it was a slow rumble that slightly shook the car from under my body.

My throat clenched in its thirst.

Breathing in again, everything felt dry and parched in my lips that I simply gripped it with my teeth. A groggy feeling was seeping into my skin, and the darkness from the corners of my eyes started expanding.

I didn't want my eyes to open, I wanted to stay like this a little longer.

Suddenly, a voice rose to my attention.

"Leo." His voice called. It was slightly deep, and his words cut through with a soft tone at the end of his sentence.

"Leo?" He called again, this time I felt a hand reached for my shoulder as it shook me a bit. The slight shift caused my eyes to blink open and the hazy sights to wash from the scene.

"Leo, you ok? You're a bit warm."

Nodding my head, I slowly picked my figure up from  against the wheel. Turning to face him, I brushed back my hair as I made out his figure in front of me.

"I'm fine." I replied.

"You don't look fine to me." He retorted.

His hand suddenly placed against my forehead. It brushed against my brow before setting closely to my hair. The tips of his finger slightly cold as it brushed over my skin.

"You're warm. And besides, you haven't rested in like two days." His voice carrying a slight sense of concern mixed inside.

Which was a bit new.

At least for the Raven that I knew.

Brushing his hand off, I shook my head as I placed my other hand against the car door.

"I'm fine, just slightly tired." I said as I opened the door.

"Leo--."
