1987 Milan, Italy

Alden was gone.

Like a sudden storm that wrapped around a dreaded city, it's desolates steps, isolated sounds, and traces of fragments---he was gone.

It didn't hit me at first, my hand stretched out to find the warmth that might hit the edge of my fingertips.

But once I realized that there wasn't a single sight of him, I grew frantic.

I searched through the halls, through the rooms that lined the mansion.

But there was no trace of him.

His belongings were still left in their drawers and his personal keepings were left untouched.

Instead, however, the two holsters that hung aimlessly inside his closet, went missing along with the black car that parked outside of the mansion.

Frantically, I searched for any signs that he could have left for me; purposely or not. But knowing Alden, once he sets his mind on something, he'll do it. So, when I was left with a dead end in the mansion; I couldn't say I didn't expect it.

I couldn't alert the entire familia. It was already three chaotic days in a row, adding one more would cause for their loyalty to waver.

In the end, I regrouped by informing the royal capos of the situation. Excluding everyone else, even the 14th don.

"The don went missing." I informed, trying my best to not let on my own feelings.

Striking everyone's face was the subtle lining of shock that crept onto their skin. Frustration and confusion mingled in their eyes as one was more prominent than the others.

Nico in particular, was both inflamed by anger and disappointment; his jaw grinding together while his fingers curled as it hung to his side. The frustration welling up in his eyes.

I couldn't say I felt very different. However, my emotions were less defined then they were.

I couldn't decide if it was fear or frustration that I felt as it runs wildly through my body.

However, I suppressed it.

"I know you're upset right now. I understand that. But the most important thing right now is to find him." The tone of my voice was assertive enough to calm them, at least some.

"But how? If anyone had the chance of finding him, it would be you. If you can't then how could we?" Lucy raised her voice. There was a sharp desperation and animosity in her voice, but she masks it with her strong actions.

The words were now caught in my throat.

At this point, I was even more at loss than they were. From everything, I could technically piece together why he left, and where he must have gone.

But knowing those reasons wasn't enough to ease my head.

"Knowing the Don he must have gone to the port alone." I stated, leaning against the chair, I tried to pierce through the words firmly.

"We just need to get to him before he tries anything by himself." Taking a glance at them, they just nodded along. However, a voice from the side of the room suddenly intervened.

"I'm sorry sir. But I cannot agree." His voice cuts across the room like a thin layer of ice. It's words drawing towards it the same disagreement that they all wanted to voice.

Turning around, I was greeted with an expectancy to the owner of the voice.

"My apologies, but the Don has made his choice, I don't think I'll support going after him."
