Storm

Chapter Five

     " I still can't believe I'm in this... what do you call it?" Winter said to one of the other wolves the next morning.
     " A zoo, and we all feel the way you do when we first come to the zoo... but we get used to it," said the other wolf.
     " I want to go back to my pack," Winter told the wolf.
     " I don't believe there's a way to get out," the wolf said.
     Winter sat at the edge of the cage and for the first time realized that the couger cage was next to the wolf cage, which only reminded her of Thunder. It was as if she could see him right in front of her... but it couldn't be him, it just couldn't. Winter focused on the couger and sure enough, it was Thunder.
     " Thunder!" Winter called. Thunder looked over.
     " Winter!" said Thunder and came over, " When did you get here?"
     " Yesterday," she said," When did you get here?"
     " Yesterday, too " said Thunder.
     " I want to go back to my pack," said Winter," How can we get out of this... what is this place? A zoo?"
     " I don't know, but we'll find a way,"
     " I broke my leg yesterday, so I have a limp, but it feels better than yesterday. When I first broke it, I couldn't walk,"
     " I am going to try to break the cage," he said.
     Thunder broke through the cage that separated the cougers from the wolves. Then he broke through the cage to get out of the wolf cage.
     " C'mon, lets get out of here before the humans notice we're gone and broke the cage," Thunder said as he stepped through the hole he'd made in the cage.
     They got out of the zoo as fast as they could without humans noticing.
